This is a 15 mm representation of the British army during the seven years war. The army covers the British Army campaigns in North America and on the continent in alliance with Frederick the great. This army would have been represented at Minden or during many of the battles in North America. I used both old glory and blue moon figures painted to a high standard. These are 15 mm figures for the seven years war.

I find the Battle of Minden to be a very interesting engagement. The vague orders for the British and allied infantry, about whether to march off with drums beating or wait for the order to march with drums beating. And then to see off three waves of French cavalry is fascinating. And then of course we have the no-show of the British Heavy Cavalry, under Sackville (Baggins). A very much unknown battle, in the wider British consciousness

I was also surprised at the size of the battlefield, which is actually quite large. It was difficult in modern context to figure out exactly where the battle was, but it did help me to visualize and personalize the army I was painting. I’m glad that you liked the figures.

You are very welcome. It is a very nice army, and I first started off painting for the North American theater, but then fell in love with the European theater even more so it’s a little bit of a blend between the two.

A very fine army. Redcoats look so striking on the tabletop.

One of my favorite all time armies... love the French and Indian War but love putting on Battle of Minden last year at the SYW convention in South Bend IN using Age of Honor rules (Age of Eagles variant). Fascinating battle for sure with French cavalry in the center against the British/Hanoverians. As always.. simply amazing painting and great army... love, love, love the grenadier hats.. simply amazing detail ... I know I can't paint like you!

Great collection!!! The Flag Dude is still in business, I just spoke with him at Fall In. What rules are these based for?

Well, that’s good news. I thought he went out of business. I make my own flags now, but I really did like his. He did such a nice job well actually he still does a nice job. I use two different sets, black powder and Kriegspiel. But thank you very much for commenting. I really appreciated it.

I use to live out near Pittsburgh and Fort Ligonier is still there. I do enjoy the French and Indian War as well as the American War of Independence. I use to do American War of Independence reenacting in the British army. I am well versed in their musketry drills and what it was like fighting in their formations. I've been burned a number of times with Blue Moon miniatures. I have had horrid luck with the quality control letting far too many miscasts through. I ultimately gave up on Blue Moon because of it. Really do like your painting of these miniatures Kev. I love how you include the grenadier companies. Do you have separate command for grenadiers and light infantry for when thy formed converged battalions? Lovely Virginia Blues! You can use a lot of the Colonial troops for the American War of Independence as well. I really do enjoy the age of musketry. The uniforms and flags are very appealing to the eye and I know and enjoy the tactics of the era very well. I think they look great with the number of miniatures you have one each base. Sometimes they look too cluttered when you start putting more figures on a base.

I have to say this is one of the nicest comments I’ve ever received. I loved reading this. Do you know the funny thing is you should come visit. It’s now decided.😂😂 I also have a very large American war of independence armies. I have not remastered those yet and intend to do so. I can pull the grenadier companies and form a large Grenadier unit. But you’re right I don’t think I ever did paint a grenadier separate command. Oh, no back to the painting table. I can do the same for light companies. You know I kind of liked the spacing and of six figures to the base versus eight. I know I got a lot of flag from people that it didn’t look so realistic. My comment back to those grognards OK, I will redo that and base them to a stand if you paint them for me👊👊 You know living down here in Georgia we have a lot of American revolutionary wars sites and I’ve been to most of them here in the south I need to venture north someday and see all of those nice things around Pittsburgh etc. But I think you’re right about blue moon. I don’t get many bad figures from them but in reality, I still preferred the old glory Miniature. I did all of the rest of my seven year wars are using those. In fact, today I’m going to be putting up the French army . I’ve been reluctant to do so because it’s so freaking large. But in all seriousness, I would love to invite you you can always come. I have many guestrooms, your whole family and extended family and their family and their extension families could all find a bed. I have a nice gaming table, not spectacular but nice. And around 275,000 for you to look upon and discuss. 🤦‍♂️

You are quite welcome! If I am ever in the area I will definitely let you know. I just sold a bunch of Blue Moon AWI stuff simply because I just could not force myself to paint their sculpts. Not sure why but it just wasn't working for me. I would love to see your AWI armies. I don't know whether or not in the Continental Seven Years War if they converged grenadiers and light infantry but I do know they did that here in North America and carried it over to the AWI. The area I was born in is right in the heart of the AWI. The Liberty Bell was hidden in the city I was born when the British took Philadelphia. Most of the German prisoners were kept there as well because the area was heavily populated with German speakers. I have purchased in the past some Old Glory 15s and I would do so again but I will probably never get Blue Moon after my bad experiences. You are too kind Kev! If I get down in that area I will gladly take you up on the offer. @@thekrausecollection15mmmin53

I would love the company. Trust me that would be a great time and good experience, and to have a new friend would be really welcome. I have not had the bad experiences you’ve had with blue moon and have only had positive ones. But the company is very easy to work with, and would replace immediately anything that they’ve done that’s not a high-quality. You should ask them, but I understand your trepidation. I had very similar experiences with Khurasan miniatures. but old glory has a great line and you’d really can’t go wrong. I think that one of the next army that I’m going to refurbish is the American warrant independence I haven’t touched those in probably eight years. I just am now finishing the French army video and I’m posting that in five minutes. I hope that you like that. People want me to do more history with it but frankly when I look at the views people don’t watch a video past five minutes. If I was to do the history, it would be much longer, and I just wouldn’t get the views. Not that I care I’m not trying to make money or be monetized. I’m doing it just to document what I’ve done in my life. It is an impressive collection of which I probably will be selling soon. Mostly all of it. But wanted to have a documented before I do that

I actually decided to just move on from them and sold them to Noble Knight Games. I even cleared out most of my 28mm stuff which I don't have the space to keep anymore. Decided to remove all the miniatures stuff I didn't have plans for and was just collecting dust. I did get some 15mm Command Decision ww2 miniatures and a few packs of Forged in Battle ww2. Went for 1939 Polish, French 1940 and Germans 1939-42. I like the history part of the videos as well but in all honesty I can go and do the research my self. In today's world people don't have an attention span. I feel you on the selling part. I had to remove a lot of miniatures that just were never going to be painted or were in a scale I didn't want to work in anymore. It was a nice feeling to just start fresh. I just finished painting some Polish machine-gun teams for Command Decision Test of Battle. @@thekrausecollection15mmmin53

Kevin Once again a very nice army. I have a ton of 7YW figures in storage. Kevin lucky that mouse didn’t get amongst your Carthaginians- could have been disastrous.. Seriously- do you have an ancient Han Chinese army ? All the best from down under Lewis Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

Hi Lewis, I’m telling you it was a shock to find a mouse in the box dead. And he ate two or three flags. I begin to wonder how the mouse got in there to begin with and what was in the flags that made him die? oh well we’ll never know but yes, in the answer to your questions I do have a Han Chinese army, a Ming, Chinese army, a Sung Chinese army, and the warring states. I think in total I have seven.

Oh, now I get it. Oh I like your sense of humor. I should’ve caught onto that immediately and I didn’t. It went right over my big fat head. But you know maybe he started his journey there and just ended up with Brits.
