Vs nx500, it's only a grand more but gets you more a smoother parallel twin which might be better for touring and it still weighs the same as the himalayan
In Vietnam you can buy any generic 125 bike for less than 1000 USD. I purchased a new Honda wave 125 last year in Thailand for 40,000 THB. (£900) And that included a free helmet and Jacket. A baseball cap and a rice cooker! They also delivered it for free 20 miles away. My point is we are being ripped off for bikes in this country. When will manufacturers realise if they sold them cheaper they would sell more.
Bruh, you're comparing the tiny 125cc bikes against middleweight and fullsize bikes. Get out of here lmao. Why don't you be fair and start comparing how much big capacity bikes are selling in ASEAN regions?
I think you are way out of touch for what you are getting on these bikes. I have $10,000 worth of upgrades on my bike. Why would I ever think I could buy a bike itself for close to that cheap, that does what I need it to do? I had a 125 when I was 10 yrs old.
I don’t. I actually listen. And sadly, if you’re talking 16 best new bikes and don’t mention the upcoming Kove 800, it’s disappointing, to say the least. 95hp, 185kg wet and a twin based on KTM 790, and all of this for ca. €10,000 should rattle the market quite a bit. It should definitely make the list.
I thought the Africa Twin had a decent engine update too. Torque is now even lower down. Having a flatter torque curve is great and hard to achieve without sacrificing KW. Should be a great update
I would still take the KTM 890 Adventure R or the Rally. It is a dream to ride on and off road. It is really easy to reconfigure to long road cruising by adding the bigger windscreen from the Adventure to it. Also, in spite of always being told how unreliable KTM is, I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT and it has run flawlessly. It is also extremely easy to service and I do all of that myself, including tire changes and balancing. My particular favorite aspect of the bike is it's ability to go off-roading and I like it much better than my BMW GS 1150 or my Yamaha Tenere that I have owned, which are also good. I hope to own my KTM for many more years to come, we will see.
I wasn't lucky as you are. Back in 97 I got mine that never actually worked ( except in the hands of those I gave it to ride it !!! 😶🌫 ) After 25 LOST , never to regain , years , I can reassure you that , been lucky or not shouldn't be the case of any product . A case , in case of KTM , that NEVER actually CHANGED even AFTER 25+ years ( just ask any Ktm honest mechanic for cables , or dashboards...) Anyway , I'm happy that you didn't have my ''bad'' luck , and you enjoyed your time with yours 🙏 🌴
The new and improved Tiger 900 pushed me over the edge, and over a year of indecision I finally pulled the trigger and put down some money for the 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Ive been trying to pick between the Desert X, Husqvarna Norden 901 and the Tiger 900 for over a year. I feel like they really hit the sweet-spot this time around with the new updates! So from now on im officially a Tiger owner xD
I'm in the same position. I had a deposit on a 900 RP, but pulled it when I test rode the Desert X (still have the deposit there for one of them). I think the new 900 RP addresses some of the reasons why I was drawn to the Desert X, but I'm going to wait to test ride them back to back before handing over the rest.
Congrats ! I spent 2 -3 yrs researching which bike to get. I ended up with a 2023 Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I LOVE IT. The few things that bother me a bit about it, have all been updated in the new 2024?!?!?! Dangit LOL. YOu cannot go wrong with this bike. You'll love it.
@@szeriman13 I can, of course, only answer for myself. I enjoy going off road every now & then, nothing too technical but certainly stuff where I could use some more suspension travel than my current 800 has. It can handle most of that but I had it bottom out a few times. That would be the main reason for me to go for the Rally. I also think it looks better. As I said, just my opinion.
Gotta say, no one has understood the adventure touring bike segment better than suzuki, the people riding adventure bikes actually just need a good touring bike. And the little off road they do can actually be done with any street bike, that's why 800re makes so much sense Edit:- TransAlp too, its much more road focused than before and against Tenere
@@szeriman13 well 800de/8s is one of their first new bike in years and they have certainly put a step in the right direction. Transalp is also mostly road focused in comparison to tenere and 800de and its doing really well
Both bikes are bloody good value here in Oz. I’d probably take the Himalayan between the two. It’s been designed from the ground up as an ADV bike, other bikes are cobbled together - that CF engine is a road bike engine, whereas the 452 engine was built for purpose, as was the rest of the bike…
It’s always a pleasure enjoying your content Bob! If price wasn’t a factor…have to go with the Desert X personally. Have a Merry Christmas good sir! 🏍️💨
I am a die hard harley guy (ya whatever ) but if I had to choose not harley I would go for the moto guzzi just based on style and option packages it was comfortable when I rode it last year I wish there was a way to make duel controls so you can stand and when seated get a better leg position for comfort on long pavement runs cheers
Basically a street focused Africa twin. You can buy the same engine in a rebel 1100 with 18 tyres but I really wish they sold the Hawk 11 outside of japan, it's basically cafe racer version of Africa twin
BMW news is wrong af. predecessor of the now F800gs is the F750gs - F700gs was the predecessor of the F750gs. Predecessor of the F700Gs was the F650GS which was NOT the G650GS
Manufacturers need to drop the LED headlights and bring back Halogens. Yamaha needs to send some Teneres to America. One or two per dealer would be a huge increase. Reviewers needs to stop repeating easily Googled specs and do some actual reviewing.
I"m actually already in my way to buy the new DUCATI DesertX " RALLY" ! BUT I still dreaming to see finally a Ducati DesertX and RALLY version ! But!! 1200 VS4 !! Great idea!! Isn't it!!
The 1300 GS has made a clear shot at the Pan America Special. Would love to see the product of straight out wars from the Big 4 and Harley Davidson. Admittedly, I own a Pan America Special. However, I really like the Tiger 1200 and clearly the 1300 GS. I wish I could own a bunch of bikes. 😊
Yeah really. So many good choices. I love the Pan American though... You can't be upset that you're still riding one of the most intriguing and coolest bikes out there.
After 35 years of lubing and adjusting chains I need shaft drive, never considered a Guzzi before but I'm drawn to the Stelvio, I like adventure style, but I won't be off roading, the vibrations from the V twin, on long journeys, are the only thing that concern me!
You include some street bikes (def not "ADV"), but don't show the Husqy or KTM lineups? Weird, as they have alays been the top (at least top 2) Adv bikes. or maybe the hot, new Toureg 660? How about the exciting prospects from Kove, Moto 800x?
Thanks Bob, brilliant as per usual! For me anything Italian is not an option, I'm sure they are great to ride, but the running coats are far too excessive for my liking!
@@carlosandleon nothing is guaranteed in this life boy but I bet the only bike you ever had ride is the one in your dreams. (and if you want to call someone a pig better look at the mirror or a family photo of yours)
BMW finally found out what motorcycles are about. First, low weight. Second, high power. Only in this order. If they make a supermoto out of the f 900 gs it will be heaven.
I wish CFmoto will come out the road bias version of the 450MT (19-17 rims) with factory low rider setup eg 750-780mm seatheight perhaps? Nothing wrong for a wishful thinking right 🙏🍀
They look amazing. But now, on dirt bikes, ABS, TC, radar sensors, lean control, rider modes, More blinking lights on the dash than a christmas tree. The only exception is the Tenere but they are nearly impossible to get.
Honda is most realible bike, ktm is hardcore, ducati is expensive....hmmmmmmmmmm! Wich is best option.... ? I dont know enymore😂😂😂 How much money do you have this is the best option...!😅
put a 100'000 miles on a klr 650 as your first bike.... every other bike you have for the rest of your life is awesome lol. as someone who works on cfmoto quads ect..... just say no. its still just ebay/aliexpress level components at its core.
Loved your review. I have a 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4S, which is very much like the new Grand Tour version in your review. I love the bike. It's fast, lighter than other bikes in its class, and is packed with the latest technology. Very cool. But I'll probably never take it off-road... too expensive to drop! But on smooth pavement... it is a blast!
The CFMoto and Royal Enfield Himalayan are my two favorites to look out for. As a newbie on a limited budget they both seem to listen toi their fan base, not that Honda doesn't because they do everything perfectly, I just prefer the underdog, like the band in high school that you felt was yours.
Waiting for the Moto Morini X-Cape 1200...going by the little specs the Moto Morini GM gave at EICMA if they can keep the price reasonable like they did on the 650 this could turn out to be a great bike.
CFMOTO is going to tear up the entire industry. Their bikes are absolutely amazing. They've been making engines for Kawasaki and KTM since 2013 or so, parts for BMW and Ducati such as dashboards, saddles and control units. Even Yamaha has recently made a deal with these guys. They really deliver. Their MT, CLX and NK line are superb. Their bikes are equipped with J Juan brakes AKA Brembo, ride by wire, cruise control, fully adjustable suspension, and just a beautiful finish on all their bikes. CF MOTO has very reasonable prices, also what you see is what you get. Almost all of their models come in different variations, but no expensive upgrade packages like the western market is being terrorized with by BMW, Honda, Yamaha. Mark my word. CFMOTO is taking over!
I was buying Dual Sport and Enduro's in the 90's with money I made on the weekends. Any brand...$1,200 to the premium $3,300. I can't believe how much they are today. Insane. No one is a bigger offender than BMW.
