I know this is from the game, but seriously, every time I listen to this I cry... Kakyoin's death is so tragic and sad to me... He's my favorite character cuz he's adorable, but also, I can relate to him. He knows what it's like to be alone, and I have been alone most of my life... I also love the 80's feel and the tune is nostalgic. That's what makes it extra sad, because it changes key and has a determined tone to it, like you're running a race and pushing your limits... But the thing is Kakyoin loses the race and his song ends... It's like a training montage, and it's full of emotion, but at the end it fades into the night to be forgotten forever. I feel his character got screwed over by Araki too, so I'm mad about that.
I honestly have no clue. What I love about your version is that is not just altered, or swapping out instruments, but you rearranged the song to the point that it sounds so unique, it gives out a different feel to the original, a triumphant feel or going out with a bang feel. I would like the same sound from hd remix but with this arrangement or an 80's synthesizer rock vibe.
soundcloud.com/silver-958907383/16-bit-splash-kakyoins-theme-remix-extended-version I posted it on Soundcloud because currently I'm unable to edit videos... I hope I didn't butcher the sound any when I extended it. (Also you can ask me to take it down any time you like, if you ever change your mind)
I first heard this in a very bizarre way if I do say so myself. Basically on the Roblox game called stands online, one of the very rare poses is the Kakyoin dance, and this specific rendition plays when you're doing the pose. Glad I found it so I could hear it in all its blast processed glory.
This sounds nothing like Kakyoin's theme and I love it. It just sounds so unique and original that if I didn't have context, I thought this would the final boss theme for some Sega Genesis game
+r a g e Basically, you just have to find what instruments correspond to how a Genesis processes sounds with it's chip. "Overdrive Guitar" being a perfect example. It's the twangy guitar so many Genesis games have in the OST's, just under a different branch name since the official name (whatever it is) is copywritten.
Please do. That has no proper context here- Oh, it's because it uses the Genesis soundfont. Sonic is on Genesis. Sonic Adventure is part of the Sonic series. Still. That's quite a few degrees of separation.
@@tonystank3091 I would guess this also has something to do with Hierophant Green using Emeralds to fight and the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic, just a guess.
Nice work dude! I love to hear a version made up for the YM2612!! Keep it up o/ And oh, a suggestion: Try to make the drum less muffled, it sounds more of a SNES Sample rather than Sega Genesis.
Did you get the midi off of vgmusic? That's the only other place I've heard this arrangement and searching for the original sequencer leads to... A hockey team.
