I've used one of these telescopic Ladders for years. I've never come to any harm on them, Thank God . However, I still do not have a whole lot of confidence in the Ladder when I use it ! I'm looking to change it to a more sturdy Ladder now. That particular model your demonstrating looks awkward to use & way too flexible at full height for my liking! Thanks for posting 👍
hey, how about trying to increase height without opening it into "A" frame? that way it will open both sides at same heights and you dont have to mess around so much.
I am not sure all telescoping ladders have similar designs or construction but if you own a telescoping ladder, get rid of it. They seem pretty safe and there are many good reviews on here and Amazon but this thing is extremely dangerous. The plastic seals that prevent the ladder from collapsing in on itself become detached and block the pins from engaging that lock the ladder runs in place. I am an older man and the fall would have killed me. Fortunately, I caught myself and hung on until my son could rescue me with another ladder. I know this ladder is very popular on Amazon but they are a death trap! Get rid of it. Once again, these are extremely dangerous. I have contacted the US Federal Product Safety Commission to issue a recall.
Sorry to hear about your accident. You are absolutely right about these ladders. Thats why they do not have them at stores in stead of online. These ladders only serve the purpose of convenience and lightly use duty. There are bunch of unsafety products out there and I dont think they could control all of them. Just have to find the right one so if something happens, you can make them pay you back. Hope you doing well. Thanks
For occasional use as a step ladder is fine especially when storage is an issue. Strength of ladder if you are over 200 pounds at 16 feet, not so much. Also does not have D rungs which is much harder on feet. Little Giant much easier to use. Can get optional leg leveler for un even ground. Much stronger for those weighing more than 200 pounds. Also costs twice as much. However same foot space when storing. Just 3 feet taller. Will also fit in trunk of car with trunk lid open but sure to tie down when traveling.
