This game has a nice variety of details, some of which are not present in most games which in my opinion just adds to the overall insanely good experience that is The Last of Us. 👍
Something I just noticed on my current play through is that all of the cities / states Ellie and Joel visit throughout the game are listed on the back of Sarah’s band tee in the beginning of the game.
Another nice touch that goes unnoticed often is how he will fondle the watch his daughter gave him at times he is dealing with an emotional situation, it's rare but he does it. Most notably at the end, when he is about to lie to ellie, and talks about finding a reason to survive. It's so very subtle, but so telling.
TLOU is the FIRST game that made me cry like a baby and feel threatened (when we meet David and his creeper friends). I never played a game like this. It´s just everything about this game, including the outstanding music. Naughty Dog created a goddamn maserpiece and I can´t wait for part 2 although, I am a little bit afraid, because I don´t wanna see Joel die, or Ellie.
I've been playing Xbox since 2002, but three months ago I bought my first Playstation just to play this masterpiece. Cost me 50€ (58$) to get the both PS3 and TLoU used, worth every penny. Now I have to save money to TLoU 2 and PS4. :D (I still prefer Xbox, but for this game I had no choice)
I know I'm late and you probably already know this by now but the twitter accounts only appear in Left Behind so if you're talking about beating the regular game then thats why. Also, how the hell can you beat the game on grounded? I understand that I'm only an average player but I'm struggling to beat it on normal mode! Having trouble in the underground section of the hotel, around 48%, Alone and Forsaken. A bloater appears there in normal mode and up and I don't have enough ammo to kill it even when I conserve. Do you have any tips? I haven't found anything specific to this part online. TL;DR: DLC only for twitter and I suck at TLOU. Need tips.
@@ghastdude589 you dont have to kill the bloater and if you crouch all the way to the exit after turning on the generator most of the time you wont ever even see the bloated but if you run he will definitely show up
@@ghastdude589 first find the keycard to open the gate and then turn on the generator and as soon as you turn the generator on run towards the stais that are on the left of where the generator is and than just run towards the door and you are done
I'm working on my second playthrough on Grounded. (Remaster has a set of Gold trophies for it. Beating it and then Grounded+) Anyhow.. the first playthrough on Grounded I had a very difficult time with the section of the game that Joel is hung upside down.) The second time it wa easy breezy. I have now been stuck in the section Ellie covers Joel with the rifle. Literally now for over 2 years. I've done it over... and over... and over... and over... and.. you get the idea. Sometimes there are just sections that get you stuck. Just keep trying. And to the point made earlier... that particular Bloater doesn't have to be killed. If you just want the pendant (I believe that Bloater is carrying a FF pendant if I am thinking correctly.) Then I recommend you go through the game on an easier difficulty first for a trophy run that includes opening all shiv doors.. collecting all pendants etc. As u end up wasting ammo and resources. I recall on my first grounded run I didnt even fire El Diablo. I only found 2 rounds total the entire playthrough and my RPG "SAVE IT TILL YOU NEEEEED IT" mindset was so ingrained i ended up finishing the game without using my fave weapon in the game. Anyhow.. Cheers all. Any other TLOU fans out there wanna be PSN buddies I am "ShakeTheHeavens" -- Hope u enjoy Part II when the time finally comes!!
I liked two details about tlou: 1:when you walk while aiming down sights the screen wobbles, unlike other shooters 2:when you have your flashlight on for a long period of time, it starts to flicker, making you shake the controller to make it work again; like shaking its batteries.
Number two blew me away the first time it happened. I forgot to pause and left the room for a few seconds, and when I came back Ellie was complaining about not moving. That's when I really fell in love with the game.
If I was God, I would hire Naughty Dog to built my world... I would only need a PS3 or higher, a graphic engine, and a couple of actors to make the dream comes true.
The first detail I really noticed when watching my dad play the game was that there was a dog barking while you play as Sarah. The barking stops abruptly shortly after Sarah finds her dad's phone in the kitchen.
i just realized how much the giraffe scene is like the brachiosaurus scene in the original Jurassic Park. Joel is Alan Grant while Ellie is Lex and Tim.
Did anyone notice when you're not moving and ellie is just waiting there she'll be like "um...superr boredddd" and making gun noises like "per purr perw" shes so cute.. I experienced this on arriving to Jackson lmao
In this moment I cried for a game for the first time in my whole life, when I saw that Ellie was so happy to see the giraffes, after all the shit she went through because of David, I shed a tear
Firefly. So didn't get around to playing TLoU for the first time this past week. I had always heard it was good, but good doesn't even begin to describe how "good" this game is. I have emotionally connected to this game like I have with no other. Granted there are some games that sorta stick with you for a bit after you play them, but this game...it's something else. Great video btw. I really like the for shadowing of when you play as Ellie.
I played The Last of Us some days ago. I heard about it too, I knew that it Is a MASTERPIECE,and my cousin have this game, so I asked him to let me play on my Ps4,Now, I'm playing Left Behind DLC,I can't get the game out of my head
@@callzz17 For real!! Even to this day, I've replayed it so many times and it still carries all of its emotional value. Such a wonderful game. Soooo excited for Part 2!!!
A couple of things you missed: There's an Unchartered board game on a shelf (I think it's in the room where Ellie takes the toy) and plush toys of Jak and Daxter in a bed room.
If you look closely at an upgraded Machete in photo mode you can see Joel taped the scissors to the handle instead of the end. Truly a survival mastermind
All of these just show how much effort has been put into the game to make it what it is. This is one of the best games I've ever played and I'm glad to see people still play this masterpiece. Keep it up!
I think a really cool detail to include is in the town, when Joel sees the bodies hanging and draining of blood, if you walk close to them he looks away and shudders, and walks really slow.
The moment when Ellie got the robot at the toy store is what pushed me to do a better quick turn. Haha! You could actually catch her half-way done after bending down to get the toy.
OH there’s also a moment where naughty dog put a cameo of their Uncharted games in the form of board games, I believe it’s in the toy shop but I might be wrong
One small detail I've noticed is that you can hear Joel's breathing. If you turn down the sound and music, wear headphones, and stand still, you can hear him breathing in and out.
Another hidden gem, when Joel and Ellie meet with Sam and Henry in the nursery there's an Uncharted board game on the shelf. A little Naughty Dog easter egg
Yeah, and here's some details I noticed. There is a Lincoln Massachusetts, But there is no Amherst County. It's Middlesex county, and Lincoln is actually mashed right up against Concord and between Lexington, which is about 12-15 miles west of Boston, not just a few miles north. Henry's eyes in game are sort of green, but in cutscenes, they're brown. They only made a small number of NPC faces and they reused them throughout the game. Like after you leave Joel's apartment with Tess, you come across the scene of 4 people being pulled out of a building and being tested, the soldier in the middle of the barricade, and the soldier that checks your papers like a minute later has the same face. At the ranch house, you stop your horse at the post to the right of the steps, and Ellie's is on the right of that, and tommy stops his horse on the left side of the steps. When you leave the house, your horse is now on the left side of the steps, and Tommy and Ellie's horses have traded places, Tommy gets on Ellie's horse, which is now in the middle, and Ellie gets on Tommy's horse which is on the right. They over used the "Naughty Dog Yellow". Almost every time you have to place a ladder or plank, there's something yellow showing you where to place it. If you have to grab/move a dumpster, the handle will be yellow. (the dumpsters you can't interact with do not have yellow handles) If you have to climb over something, you'll see yellow caution tape. They did a couple of variations on it, in the hotel in Pittsburgh, when you place the ladder right before the ambush where Ellie shoots "The hell out of that guy", there's a yellow curtain where you need to place the ladder. In the State house, the one staircase that is partially broken, the one where Ellie asks how they're going to get out of there, is yellow. There's even yellow paint on the beginning and end on some stairs. The only times they didn't use something yellow was when an NPC Climbed/moved/went over it first, or it was just too obvious. Here's a detail though, Joel first meets Ellie just after Curfew, which is 6pm. They arrive in Lincoln at Sunset the next day. (one full day) They drive through the night, and arrive in Pittsburgh that morning, and meet Henry and sam around mid afternoon. (end of the second day) By the middle of the day the next day they arrive at the radio tower, When Ellie and Sam talk alone, it's at night, so that's the end of day 3. On the morning of the 4th day, Henry and Sam die, That's essentially the first half of the game and it takes place over the course of say about 80 hours. The worst thing they did was Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City is in a desert, and there is no highway tunnel system.
This game has so much surprises I love it like Henry killing himself I thought he would blame Joel and Joel would beat him after Henry tried to kill him or something but then after he died I was genuinely sad
0:58 one of the best details I accidentally found, but I turned camera faster and you can actually see her barely grabbed it, I wish you turn the camera faster but still an awesome detail!
If you get the camera to the right spot so she's in the cameras view but not in your line of sight you can actually see her pick up the toy. Also the scene where Ellie shoots the guy trying to drown Joel she is actually fully animated picking up the gun and firing.
You forgot the rust on firefly pendants. For example the one in the water in front of the Capitol (the gold-roof building) and the one on the bloater in the university, are more rusty then the others :D
That's actually the coolest most meta thing that the twitter accounts even exist. I mean it's not even that huge of a thing BUT IT'S LITERALLY THE COOLEST THING THAT THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR THAT
7:17 this might be annoying cuz mayb other people said it but you forgot sam's robot has lines for Ellie. Also, did you know that at the start of metting hemry and sam you go into one apartment that i think is locked and when you go to the room on the left there will be a playstation 3 ( maybe the ps1 or ps2 but i dont think so) inside next to the TV. Really cool. There will also be a comic inside. Firefly
Idk why but when I'm playing this game and I'm being shot at/charged at by a zombie I flinch and gasp, like I'm going to be shot/bitten too. I've never experienced something like this in my life and I'm so hyped for The Last Of Us Part II.
Did anyone else notice the savage starlight comic posters in one of the houses in bills town? Uncharted 4 has a skin set called the savage starlight series...
Firefly! Also, when Joel was in the snow he looked alot more tired than usual. I don't know if you were low health or if it was just because you were farther in and he was progressively getting more tired, but I thought it was a pretty cool detail!
One time I was playing the last of us because my sister was having trouble with the sniper, where you can go to one house with one person or an area with a bunch of people, I chose the one guy way and when I was punching the guy out he landed back first on the hand rail to the stairs and stayed there and everyone was laughing.
