You are doing good, but what you need to do is build yourself a power supply that can hold up to the boxes you are testing. They wont get as hot and when you are testing with the cover off, just put a fan facing the box to keep it a little cool. Remember...transistors don't like heat, the cooler they stay the better they work. The HG-C's do generate more heat because they work harder to produce the power. Keep any transistor cool and it will last, that is why I have 12 HI-Flow fans on my DD-8000 Tech-Nine Built 64-Pill, built in 12-24-2004 and have not blown a Pill. My bad! I started typing this before I watch the hole video, you do know about bigger power supply good job man keep up the good work. What your are doing is the main part of box building, "Trouble Shooting" I always say.... anybody can build a box, but can you Fix a box.
Im not a huge fan of power only because right around 100 watts you really start killing it with a good antenna. But.....damn brother I love your attitude your having fun and not hurting anybody. I only wish I understood RF amplification the way you guys do. Keep on rocking!
Whats Up bud, ole Gatekeeper Here. You have to look at it like this. The 2879 Standards have 4 Chips. The 2879C "Competition" 2879's Yep that is what the C stands for. I was on the phone with 123 while HG asked me what should we name them and 123 came up with that idea lol...but the C have the same Chips Exact Chips but with 6. So two C's equal 3 Standards. You get the math? Just wait until we get done testing the 2879 - Octo's lol lol Just found your channel for the first time. I love how yall are just chilling and enjoying your selfs. Cant wait to watch some more!
Haha. That’s awesome. Very cool. I just talked to Danny the other day. Must be being modest. He never mentioned that. Great info, thank you for that. Love your channel. Keep up the great job. We have learned a lot from you. Thanks for turning in. Hope to catch you in the world of sound. 73’s my brother. 28 and 22.
Hey man I just subscribed to your channel. I came across this video and I loved you guys banter and how you have a blast working on this stuff. Keep up the good work from your new fan, Shotgun Massachusetts.
Hey guys i have made a 300 amp supply and my 2x8 will output 2300 dosy pep. Using a stryker 2 watts from radio gives me 800 dead key and will swing to 2300. You need to build ya a POWER SUPPLY. You guys are great to watch. Cheers!
Why do you all, key the mic while you’re already hollering “audio,” and unkey the mic right before you stop hollering? Do you think we may one day see the dead key watts, and the meter swinging forward from the dead key watts position?
