If Czechs are trying to correct your pronunciation they are not doing it out of ill intent. We just find it funny when a foreign is trying to pronounce Czech words because we know how difficult that language is.
I know that's rude to correct someone, but I'm doing it, too, because I'm trying to help. I don't like myself, that I say something in English, need help with pronounciation and nobody want to correct me or tell me "Yeah, I understand, that's ok. This way I cannot learn.
Its so funny to hear foreigners say how cheap things are in Prague, when we Czechs from smaller cities are constantly complaining about how expensive everything in Prague is xdd
If it says Japanes, swiss or norwegian I would belive Prague is cheap 🙂 definitely most expensive like phillipines ,vietnam, india etc..🙂 also GDP is mich higher
Older people here don't usually know English because during communism (until 1989), Russian was mandatory at all schools and English was not taught as it was "the language of the imperialist enemies" for our government. Therefore, people who finished high school before that year (that means now aged 50+) were never taught English at school nor have they ever encountered anybody using English language until they were adult. Also, Wikipedia says that English is one of the official languages in the Philippines, which is not the case in Czechia.
This is a really good video dude! I love how quick and very direct comparison you have displayed here! Czech rep is now gonna be on my destination list!
As few people here already mentioned, it's amazing to see someone from abroad reacting to my country, especially when it's in a positive note :D I just wanted to say that your pronunciation is pretty decent considering how hard the Czech language is, nice work man! And yeah, as my fellow citizen already mentioned bellow, most of older Czechs don't speak English, since our nation was quite isolated during the communism era and English was not allowed to teach anywhere, also it was strictly forbidden to travel abroad, so there was no chance our older generation could learn this language. Despite that I must say that soo many middle aged people are taking English classes now as adults to catch up which I personally find pretty cool :3
Also here is some travelling tips: Český Krumlov- if u haven't been there already, u need to go there, its like the most wonderful historical city here in Czech republic (tho it can be quite crowded since its favourite tourist destination) Southern Moravia - amazing nature, even better wine, and its the place where the Czech traditions are being preserved the most Pilsen - well obviously the beer and pubs, and architecture as well
Hehe you should definitely come here!!! There's also a lot of nature places to go around CZ or its neighboring countries, not to mention the Alps and Tatras :) I think my next video will be about how to get a job here in CZ if you're still residing in PH :)
Yeah our "dumplings" are usually bread dumplings, which is basically a huge dumpling loaf, cut into slices, very good for absorbing the sauce. It is an aquired taste. Or it's potato dumplings, that are smaller, probably come from more southern countries like Italy (gnocchi) which I personally am not a huge fan of, even although I like potatoes themselves.
It's pretty relaxed. The first maybe 6 months of the pandemic were strict, where most public places like restaurants were closed, afterwards we just had to wear masks in public transport and indoor areas, now life is pretty much back to normal
yes iam definetly trying to avoid those plastic shits :D i have like 1000 of them at home and i dont need them for anything but i always forget to bring my own twxtile bag so i have to buy one otherwise i try to bring my own bag :)¨nice viddeo
English I'm happy that most people show that Czech Republic isn't that bad even tho it's a small country
I hope i get to bump into you somewhere there in Praha hahaha I miss being there and I'll be coming back soon ^_^ btw, go to Zlichin, there's a big Ikea there. Best beer? Hmmm try Pilsner Urquell ;)
total coinsidence..when I was little child in czech school I always wondered that.. no reason..actualy there were 2 states with same flag and they learnt it at the olympics..not sure the year, it might be infamous 1936..
Im glad:) I live in Czechia and i love it. Please visit our National Theatre in Prague. Its amazing and the history of it, just amazing. You can also visit Karlův most(King Karl's IV. bridge). Its the most famous and pretty bridge in Czechia. Have a nice day! ❤
Hello sir Chris, I am Bea po a journalism student from UST. I am currently looking for an interviewee for my world migration subject that is an OFW in czech republic. I came across your youtube videos and I think you suited best for my interview. Please let me know if you are willing to be interviewed. Thank you!
It depends on your work po - it's not necessary to learn czech because most companies here are using english on a day-to-day basis, however some jobs here requires you to speak czech (atleast A1 po).
Ahoj Kabayan! Ask ko lang kung mahirap ba ang process para maka punta dyan for work? (First timer nagbabalak maging OFW). Btw already started learning Czech language out of curiosity.
How did you end up across the world in Czech ? was there something interesting for you ? and Is it true when Manny ''Pacman'' Pacquiao is fighting it is like holiday in philipines that people are not working and even crime is lower ?
Hi, Kabayan. Dobrý den! Are you already working in Cz now? Do you have any idea how to get a job here? I came here 2 months ago, and currently waiting for my temporary residence permit's approval. Thank you! 😊
Hi Sir, mahirap ba maghanap ng work jan sa cz? Ano Kaya the best way? Salamat. Gusto ko kc Jan sa Prague. Every 6 months Anjan ako sa Prague since 2016. Natigil lng gawa ng pandemic. Salamat sir at Ingat
@@JeffreyCasino yes po, I'm here already for almost two years. There are several ways on how to find a job here, for non-EU www.uradprace.cz/ is very useful :)
@@chcepe thank you for the info. Since 2016 every 6 months Anjan ako for holiday mga 2 weeks ako Jan palagi. Natigil lng last year gawa na pandemic. Anyways thank you, keep safe and enjoy living in Prague!
@Antonio Prague is pretty much the IT capital of EU right now. So there are a lots of job oppurtunities for IT engineers of any kind. If you find an opportunity, don't go under 45000 CZK.
We do not need to eat something when we drink beer (it's liquid bread :D), but when we drink wine or slivovica, it's nice to have with it some cheese, sausage or salam :)
It seems that you are living only in Prague and speaks only in few cz friends. For example my family decorates our homes and had a xmas wibes right after Halloween... Not all Czechs are like you described.... Sorry for disagree comment.
Hi! i am a new subbie here, I'm also a Filipino and just done an interview with an employer from Czeq. I would like to ask if is it easy to get a Permanent Residency there?
I cannot answer that as I'm just here for almost two years yet. However, as i heard from other expats, it's quite difficult as first you have to stay here atleast 5yrs, you must also pass the czech exam, know how the deal with czech administration stuff, etc.
Well, temporary residence is based on why do you come here, you can get that simply. Permanent residence is not that simple to get, you have to live here 5 years and speak Czech.
