@@leonaleona1929 A Fender Strat is a top choice but cost a pretty penny and should look into Fenders 2nd brand Squier which is fender guitars but with cheaper hardware but still a great instrument, you could also try one of my guitars which is an "Ibanez Gio GRX70QA" costs £150 and worth the money for buying a first guitar, good for rock and metal with double strength humbucker pickups to get a darker rock sound
@@poof5726 ok, i'm not big on music theory myself, i went to music school for 2 years and dropped out because the teacher was bitchy. But if you are trying to learn a punk song or any song at that, try using bar chords. It's wayyyy easier to learn the song without actually learning it. Plus, most punk songs use bar chords. I usually just try getting the song by ear. I find the chords that sound like the ones in the song i'm trying to learn, i put the chords together in the right order, and BOOM i have basically learned the song.
Actually, the 'sing along dude', is a great excercise and after a while, you do develop a 'sound', using both. Love your videos! i've been a guitarist for the past 40 years, just had a stroke, and suddenly, guitar is gone, just like that. So your videos remind me of the instrument that I always loved, and how beautiful it can be, when well played. Thank you!
Wait so how did it feel picking up a guitar after your stroke? Did it make you forget your muscle memory or did it make you forget how to play in general
@@FreezyPop Hello! Part muscle memory and part, plain 'memory'. My hand don't taalk to the brain...! And now, I sing out of tune! (which is shocking to me, always singed in tune, in Chorals, back-ground singer, etc, etc!
Until he turned on the distortion for the Metal part. Now I feel a little more confident in my playing after that. lol Wish I could play a quarter as well as he did in general, though...
After some years playing, basically every thing you does after warming up your fingers is at least somewhat good (usually just under the constraints of your own playing style). You need to get into a very unknown place to sound kinda bad, but still way better than any newbie. And that's why Trout Mask Replica is so impressive, also.
Siddharth watched his content from back when he collabed every so often with Rob. It’s nice to see his channel thriving, he definitely deserves it after all these years.
Metal people in general in my opinion look "scary" but they have a heart of gold ... and then there is this tiny clique who actually are like the look, and that's in the news!
My dear friend ! I have been a guitarist for 45 years. On big stages, in small studios and in smaller pubs. And it's been a long time since I laughed that much. Thank you very much from Hungary.
We need more videos of spiritual dude and the jazz guy that sings along I'd really enjoy that. You missed the wonderwall and gay pop songs guy that gets all the teens

You were here after all! 8) I started to be worried - scrolled down for so long - that I'm the only one that appreciated "the highest art"! :D (Actually I have written one atonal song and will probably do more in the future... in western music there's just otherwise too few notes. And then your choices are either atonality or microtonality or both. )
“The guy that doesn’t clip his finger nails, and uses them as picks.” By the way, I did the same thing for a while, but it became so hard to function in literally any other task, that I had to clip them. I understand that the nails supposedly produce a better tone in classical guitars, but I had to choose: have a good sound, or have constant pain.
2:13 The first time I ever recorded me playing my acoustic I heard myself do this and I deleted it instantly. Since then, I've made it a conscious effort to control my breathing while playing/recording.
@@francogiacche. perché dovrei dirglielo ? Nemmeno lo conosco questo Spinetta! Sarà argentino, visto il nome, oppure è del settecento, se suona la spinetta😁

1:30 so I remember seeing this when I first started playing guitar and thought "I mean... it doesn't sound very bad." Now here I am, dead, wishing I never heard because of how terribly out of tune that is. Getting closer to being perfect pitch every day B)

@@maxen4448 Those so-called Alaska picks might work for you. Unlike those regular guitar picks, which are made from metal or hard plastic and worn over your fingernails, Alaskas have two loops that stretch, and the actual pick is worn below the fingernails, which are kept short. I cannot imagine letting my nails grow out long enough to play fingerstyle the way classical guitarists do, I'm too obsessive-compulsive for that.
