Granny Pat Thank you for sharing your beautiful pieces and stories. My momma had the autumn leaf dishes from the jewel T man. After my parents divorced in 1975 she had her things stolen . I have been collecting the autumn leaf dishes for many years. I appreciate your stories that you share with us. Your voice reminds me of my aunt Lavonne's voice and a bit like my grandma. Keep sharing your stories and collections, and you're wonderful. You have a charm and lovely voice, and it brings back memories of sitting at the table with my family. I remember things my momma had when I was a child and being able to find them as an adult somehow brings me closer to mommas memory. Thank you again...
Love your collection. My mother born in 1941 has over the years has accumulated quite a haul of The Jewel Tea collection. My favorite pieces are the genie style tea pots. So beautiful! Enjoyed watching you show your set!✨💫🌟
Hello Granny Pat, you look even more beautiful today, the bright orange top & your special “ Granny Pat” glasses bring out even more beauty for you today. You are such a delightful “ video friend”, so thankful for you.🙏🏼♥️🌹🌹🌹
You have such lovely things and display them so beautiful. I remember the Jewel Tea Man, don’t think my mother ever bought anything, we couldn’t afford it. It’s wonderful that you keep yourself looking so lovely. Most people who live alone wouldn’t bother to dress nice and apply makeup everyday. You are a jewel. Have fun in Louisville and bring back lots of pretties.
My mother and grandmother used the same method for cleaning their silver when they needed a quicker cleaning. I do the same thing with my silver too! I so love this kind of haul! Thank you for sharing your treasures with us!
I love you so much granny pat. You make every day better by a lot. I love listening to your voice and hearing your stories. I've learned so much from you throughout these past few days. You're so sweet and I love the adventurous stories from years ago. I love your cooking videos and I can't wait to try out your recipes. You're so beautiful and you inspire me in every way possible. Your glasses are so cute and I love all the colors. The little wall pockets in your kitchen area are so cool. I aspire to live a life just as exciting as yours. Your jade collection is so cool. Your positivity makes me feel so happy and good and it's refreshing to watch your videos. I love you granny pat ❤️
Granny Pat, you did it again! Another delightful video. You have sooo many beautiful collections. You are right about the technology. Some of it is wonderful but I would be so much happier with people calling and coming over. A text message us not quite the same as a phone call when you want to really connect with a close friend or family member. I am so impressed with all your place settings and how you put your dishes together on a table. BTW I must say that you look fabulous in that orange shirt. Not everyone can wear that color and it really suits you. I wish I could watch you more, but I can’t always. I am so happy though when I can. Thanks for a very entertaining evening. 😊❤
Thanks so much, I;m so happy that you take time to share with all of us. I just love your kind voice. I'm 81 and I admire you for doing this, communicationg and sharing|!💗 You speak slowly and give each word importance and some love, that's why it's so easy to listen to you.
Pat this is definitely your color, wear it with that lipstick 💋 💄 you look so young. That Jewel T was my grandmothers pattern. I love it, one of my favorite.
I so love ❤️ your videos they are fun to watch and hear about a time when life was lived in a more simple way when people loved their family and each other and respected people and were thankful for all God’s blessings that is what rich means to me the Bible says if we don’t have love ❤️ we have nothing and that’s truth I used to love to hear my grandma talk about her younger days I clung to every word hoping to always remember and to this day I remember talks we had hugs we shared supper time when all family was there around the table and asking the blessing over what God had provided I have no doubt she is in heaven she taught me about Jesus and his love and one glorious day we will stroll heaven hand in hand never to be apart again!!!!!!! I’m just a country girl lived a wonderful life and can truly say I have been loved and have given love and that’s all I will ever need in this life some would say I haven’t acquired a lot of material things in life but what I did acquire was love ❤️ and that makes me a millionaire!!!!!!!! God bless your journey always 🙏✝️
OMG. I never knew about the Jewel Tea Man! I never knew of the origin of Autumn Leaves china. But my grandmother had the autumn leaves dishes. How I wish I could have some of those dishes today. Thank you, Granny Pat. You are a treasure! I'm bingeing on your videos today.
My momma was born in 1938 and she and I were just talking about her jewel tea dishes and how she got them. She has the autumn leaf pattern. I live in a small town in upstate New York, Oneida where Oneida silver was made and never knew that about cleaning it and mine sure could use a good cleaning so will try that. Your candle looks so pretty with your dishes. Thank you
In England our name for thrift stores is charity shops 🙂Also my friends and myself are having a Joan Crawford season of her movies on dvd. She was great! And something special about those old black & white movies 🎥🎬🎞📽
🌺another great video. We had that silverware set. I really appreciate you taking out all those dishes, setting the table and making it so pretty! I know it’s a lot of work for you. Thank you very much!
I didn't realize Jewel is the same company as Mary Dunbar. I have three of those pieces that I've found in the last few months at garage sales and antique stores :)
Oh my! I grew up doing that at both my grandma's and at my mom's! I've done it too with my silver and it's the most gentle way to clean your silver! Love what you talk about and share what you have collected! Beautiful!
You look especially pretty tonight Pat. Your hair looks very nice. That china is very pretty. I really like the design. For a story, you have never told us the story of when you got married and then ended up divorced. I'm not sure what video it was, it's been awhile ago, but you said you'd tell us that story one day in a video. So, if you want to, I'm ready to hear it lol 😉😆 Love your videos, God bless and have fun this weekend with Jan! 💕🌹
Thank you for showing your wonderful collection. It brought back memories of potato salad in a large bowl. Tea on the table. And a bowl of tuna salad pasta. I also got to see many items she didn't have. I think she got her set with green stamps. I have a couple of those stamps in an old diary of hers. Thanks again!
I love that pattern! Never heard of the Jewel Tea Man! I always learn something new from you! Love how you layered your plates...beautiful tablescape! Loved how you moved around the table to show us everything! What a treasure you have! Enjoyed your video! Love ya!❤❤❤
Beautiful china, Pat! I wouldn't part with it, if I were you. If it brings back those sweet memories of years gone by, then it is serving you very well. When you mentioned thrift stores, I thought, yes, why are all of us flocking to them? Then I realized that many of our stores and malls have closed. Most of us enjoy actually looking at items, picking them up, touching them, and you sure can't do that when you buy online!
How interesting! I love those dishes, very pretty indeed. That covered dish appears to be a tureen, since it has the slot for a ladle. I do think that some of the pots are coffee pots. Tea pots tend to be more round and squat, often with a sweeping curved spout, but coffee pots are tall and straight up with a small spout. Just my observation from when I grew up in Europe. I love the way you made up the table, the dishes in the basket look like a decoration... so nice!
You are right! A couple of the pots with handles may be drip-o-laters and the top piece is missing. You see that often. I should have researched those pieces. You can usually tell by the way the lid fits.
I loved this video! My grandmother had some Jewel Tea dishes. It was great to hear how she got them. I love your stories and your sweet, soft voice. I wish I was your neighbor. We’d have some good visits. God bless you! 🩷
Such wonderful video showing beautiful dishware indeed. Thank you so much. I remember the Fuller Brush Company and how they would come door to door. We even had Erhlers Dairy deliver milk orange juice and glazed donuts at our door when I was young also. I grew up in Lexington near Southland where Erhlers had their store. Also, there was Mike Sells that would also deliver those wonderful potato chips in those large tins. What great memories indeed.
Thank your Grand daughter for setting up this utube channel speaking for all subscribers we thank her so much for sharing her Granny Pat enjoy your trip!
Jewel T man oh wow I got my first plaid dress my favorite dress 😂 I was about 6 I loved when he was around the neighborhood I knew my mother would always get us something cute thanks for reminding me 🥰
Our neighbors had the Jewel Tea dishes and they always had a pretty table. It was nice to remember the Jewel Tea man and all of the things he would have to sell. Love hearing your stories. Enjoy your chicken salad. That is a good tip on shining silerware. Thanks for sharing. I am going to spruce up my silver with your tip. Who new? You look lovely , as always.
So so pretty Granny Pat!! you do just fine! Love the way you decorate, and tell your stories, so interesting about the Jewel Tea dishes, you are a treasure!
Hi Granny Pat! I remember my Mom talking about Jewel Tea. I never really knew what it was. We also had a McNess man in this area. He sold a lot of products similar to Fuller Brush and Stanley. Thank you for a very interesting video. I learn so much from you. You are the best! Love you! Shirley from Hanover PA.
Never heard of Jewel Tea but it’s lovely. I do remember seeing those coffee dispensers on the wall but didn’t know how they worked. I love that bittersweet bowl. What a unique find! I always find your dishes and tablescapes inspiring. Keep on “dishing” up the stories lol
Thank you so nice to meet you. Collected Jewel Tea for years! what state were you when JT man came? I'm in Dallas Texas but original owner collected in Oklahoma or Missouri 1930 to 1955
More great stories and info!...thank you Pat! I think the 2 heavy, covered bowls w. handles are called Casserole Dishes for use in the oven. Some folks use the term Dutch Ovens interchangeably, but i read that there are some differences, such as...i think Dutch Ovens can be used in the oven and stove top.. (just my 2 cents..:)
I love watching you playing with your china. I collected Blue Onion and Blue Willow Staffordshire- Midwestern wood bowls and pewter spoons.. Setting up tables is creative and relaxing 👍👍Thanks Pat
Sorry pat some how I miss when you come on but I do listen to your stories I do enjoy them thank you for your way back stories you are a sweet lady. I guess I just sit back and just listen to you.
I enjoyed seeing the jewel dishes I have several that were My Mother in laws & also I gave them to My daughter whomever I live with because She loves them & She found Sher curtisnsto go on sides of windows that match the dishes
I really enjoy listening to you. It's so ironic that you shared your Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf collection. I have one piece that belonged to my mother. It's the vegetable casserole dish. Someone gave it to her way back in the late 60's or early 70's. I never knew the name of the pattern until watching you tonight. It has the Hall's stamp on the back. I will certainly continue to treasure it for the rest of my life. I am 70 years old now and will share this information with my daughter. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and stories. I 💘 listening to and watching your videos. I keep you and yours in my prayers 🙏❤
I would like to see you walk around your home. It‘s amazing what you have. Lol, as I was writing this you said, Don’t look in the back ground, there‘s things I don‘t want you to see.“
My first love in collecting was Hall teapots. I own 20 of them. Most of them are the ones named after cities. Rose Parade is one of my favorites. The yellow sundial one I have is gorgeous. I have the cobalt blue double teapot also. You and i have been to many of the same antque stores. I hope to meet you there one day. I loved the Oxmoor Mall in Louisville .
How about green stamps…what did you buy with those? I remember my Mother collecting them…putting them in a booklet….then don’t remember what she got for the green stamps she collected. 😎🙋🏻♀️❤️
What a lovely table of China. I had never hear of the Jewel Tea Man, so was happy to hear that story. The large pot isn’t a teapot because of the shallow spout. Might be a coffee pot.
Love Jewel Tea dishes! They are perfect for Fall, and I am so ready for fall and cooler temperatures! You always set such a festive and beautiful table!
Autum leaf is the only thing that I remember about the Jewell Tea Company, other than they came door to door, yes. We had a nice bakery truck come around with bread and other goodies. There was the milkman too. The milk came in glass bottles & the butter fat rose to the top of the bottle opening. I love your Tulip tea pot, nice!
You liok so pretty today Granny Pat! U had never heard about pretty dishware being sold like you described. So interesting. Take care. Have fun visiting your granddaughter.
Love you in your bright orange to match the china! You look so festive! My mom has one of the teapots from her older sister in her china cabinet. I also love looking at old stuff at the Antique shops and good will. Don't sell the china!!!! I love that they bring back loving memories of your Mom. Love watching you, Granny Pat!!
Oh wow! The teapot with the infuser I have never seen before. It has an Aladdin’s lamp sort of shape. Quite unique. Have always loved this pattern even though I don’t own any pieces yet. It is such a wonderful autumn pattern.
I know you are probably familiar with The Brown Hotel in Louisville? You should go while you are there this weekend I was just there for dinner last week and it is nice to see a place of that caliber still holding its own!
Hello Miss Pat , Your blouse is a perfect match for the dishes. Love your glasses. Love You, it would be a honor to meet you. Helen from Blairsville Ga.
I couldnt do the camera moving either. I get aggravated so easily now lol. I do watch a house cleaning show where the girl holds her phone in her left hand while scrubbing. I'm amazed it hasn't ended up in a toilet yet. I've never heard of Jewell Tea. I'm learning new things from your channel.
Good evening Sweet GP! I had a smile from ear to ear with today's video. The Jewel Tea reminded me of my mother. She had only a two pieces, a large bowl and the tea pot. She always used the large bowl to mix apples with sugar and cinnamon for her apple pies. Of course, that made me smile. Your table settings are eye candy for those of us like to create themes with colors, textures, and moods. Another big smile from me. And, above all, you make me smile with your joyful outlook on life. Thank you for all your planning and efforts. My mom also loved to set beautiful tables. She told me the reason she went to all the trouble to set a beautiful table was so that her guests would know how much she cared for them. It was her gift, along with a delicious dinner, to them. A memorable gathering. Have a wonderful trip with Jan. You gave us a teaser with what she recently bought.... can't wait for that. Have fun thrifting. I am currently on the hunt for vintage bottle brush Christmas trees and vintage wooden ornaments for a repurposing project. My friend and I are having a booth at a November pet rescue event called "Crafting for Critters." Take care, ❤🐝
Your project sounds like fun. Jan wanted me to create miniature Christmas scenes in coffee cups. I have a lot of old miniature figures I discovered in my combobulation of stuff! I’ll be lucky if I make a jeweled tree this year. You will have to show me your creations.
You have such a beautiful home to match a beautiful person. You have such an incredible life and wonderful stories. I feel I've known you all my life. Thank you for being there for us to listen to and enjoy. I'm like most and wish you were my mother/ grandmother/ friend. God Bless you always. A faithful subscriber 😊
I tell my daughter when she discusses some things with me, is the difference between dishes that were produced in the United States and a set of everyday dishes I own made in China. When I moved from an American made set to this current set I couldn’t find any American made set of all white dishes in sets in stores for a reasonable price. So, looking at the condition of this current set compared to the set that I used to own there is simply NO comparison. When dishes were produced in this country there were quality inspectors and each set had a small piece of paper accompanying the set that said ‘Inspected by’. They withstood everyday use with the surface never appearing worn at all. The quality level is obvious to anyone who experienced American made products of my childhood and early adulthood.
Oh please don’t sell your Jewel Tea dishes!!! Thank you so much for taking me down another memory lane!!! I have polished silver with aluminum foil and salt several times!!! I clean old pennies a similar way…I crochet beautiful penny holders with a penny from the year of their birth for brides and grooms to wear on their wedding day and I like to use a shiny penny for this project. Enjoy your trip!!! Take care, be safe, and thank you for everything you do to make my life more enjoyable!!!
Oh yes I know about jewell tea man. My mom couldn’t buy it till much older in life. I have her jewell tea tea pot where you put loose tea in a middle compartment. Also have the cookie jar. I use that aluminum foil baking soda and salt method to clean flatware
