20161015 老九门番外 《二月花开》张艺兴戏曲造型特辑 the mystic nine side story - flowers bloom in February Er Yue Hong (played by Zhang Yixing) opera makeup behind the scenes
Just mentioning, the makeup artist for Yixing is called Xiaochuan Song, the most famous opera makeup artist in China. I believe this extra episode would be much better than the original one! So exciting!
@@kimberlyvuong6396 i mean its hurt that he is more pretty than me.. Of coz i love n support him as a exol but it's still hurt coz he is a man n I'm a woman.. It's the truth that can't be helped..
this is spectacular...the makeup was designed and applied by Mr. Xiaochuan Song, a master of Beijing Opera, who also did the opera makeup for Leslie Cheung (as the character 虞姬) in the movie "Farewell My Concubine" (directed by Kaige Chen, 1993).
In ancient time chinese women were not allowed to work outside, especially to expose themselves to public. So all the opera actors were male at the beginning . However almost every script needed female roles. So a specialized occupation existed for a long history in opera performance -"旦角“(”Dan Jue"),which means male actors acting female figures (often with thick make-ups beautiful costumes in order to reduct male features). Lay's role Er Yue Hong was a pretigious ”Dan Jue" at that time.
somehow I feel like I am watching a bride getting dressed and ready for the ceremony. ugh, I think this is what I'm going through when I am getting married

At first I could tell that was lay but after the make-up was finished I was like wtf happen he looks so different! He is so beautiful, I now know that I fail as a girl!
Same but if you pay attention you'll see that he doesn't have all the acne he had before. He is in a low carb diet so his skin got flawless because of it (I know that because I'm on the same diet and my skin looks like a baby's skin).
I saw the makeup and I was thinking "is that Lay? that looks so much like Lay but I don't think that's him...come on that person looks just like Yixing" then I read the caption and thought "oh shit it is Lay".
