This one is gorgeous.Not having the dark background on means the light shines right the way through it and thus you get a more 3D effect as you can see both the folds at the front and the lighter shadowing of the ones at the back.This would look nice on a stand in a window bouncing the light through it.I love this one .

This is beautiful. The back has a softer look to it. If you wanted to use pearls I would go with the back. If you wanted to go with crystals either clear or colored use the front. Either way this is definitely a technique I will be playing around with.

I like the front..it looks ‘dreamy’.💗 Have you ever used the plastic stir sticks for resin Julie? They’re suppose to decrease the amount of bubbles you get when mixing your resin as opposed to the wooden sticks. 🙂

This turned out beautifully! Both sides are equally great!! Using a clear coat gives you two options for displaying especially since both sides are gorgeous. Your labor of love paid off big time!!!

Love them both. If using pearls place thin layer and put pearls in that layer let cure then do layer with fabric. That way pearls will not shift or move. If you like bottom or top you could add pearls to both sides. So your last layer clear you can also do pearls. A black silk would be jaw dropping with whit or cream color pearls....Great technique...hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙

Julie, I love both sides. Why not get a sheet of black card or paper and hold it against one side, then the other, before you decide which is top and which the bottom?

The front, definitely,NO dark background, it would ruin the whole affect,also look closer at the folds on top they do have a more round waved look, glad I watched again,hard to believe it's been a year, love the piano, that was nice 🙂 Oh and sometimes, like now, you do use an awful lot of black, maybe I just love alot of color 🤷 💗

You worry a LOT about what you're "supposed to" do, or what you "have to" do. Why don't you just do what you" WANT TO" do? Life is much happier, joyfull, and far less stressful, when you just follow your OWN thoughts, instead of worrying about some arbitrary rule, or desire, someone ELSE made up. And if someone doesn't like it, then they can just not like it. That heart was/is simply beautiful, just as it is. The owner can pick what side they prefer.

BACK - by a mile, in my opinion. What about a darker color of fabric? When this white chiffon gets too close to the surface I don't think it looks so good. So it would be worthwhile IMO to Try a pink - or perhaps even a sheer burgundy? - fabric. What about a sheer black fabric? I wonder what that would look like?. I would also prefer a mold with a definite top - with a rounded edge, personally.

While both are so similar, I feel like I still like the back more... I find that there's more storage between the fabric folds giving more colour contrast between them!!

I think both sides are equally pretty, you can see the folds well on both sides .You amaze me.! I'm still trying not to make a mess with your Christmas molds .I tried those little bottles but guess my resin was too thick ,the needle tip blocked easily & bottle was hard to squeeze with my Arthritic hands. Have tried popsicle stick & a cup. Pipette next attempt I think!!!!My gloves never stay as clean as yours no matter what I try ,nor does my table!!!!!

Hi Julie I would appreciate you share your inspiration sources (and I am sure those makers would appreciate it too). Chiffon technique (and rain drops effect) I already saw with Tea and Art (ru-vid.com) and your foil technique was shown earlier at Steve McDonald's Arts and Crafts (www.youtube.com/@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts) I know many other crafters might have done it also, but I usually others are sharing their inspirations. And that is fair to your source especially with ranges you have. With you it looks like you make it on your own and I am sure this is not the case...

Omg. Tried this ....bwaahaaa!😂 mold too shallow and air kept the chiffon sky high. Oh Lord..won't try this one again for awhile .😊

Though both sides are gorgeous, i think the "right" side is prettiest. So glad you didn't put the dark background on it. It's definitely a two - sided piece where you can display either side as you wish. I'm into so many different crafts, and, would love to get into this one. But, not sure if I can do so at this time. I think I like the front more, it’s more fluid. I think pearls or glass would look nice with just a few in at random and maybe in a couple of the folds of fabric.

the silk remained in the middle, first you filled the epoxy, you put the cloth and epoxy, if I understood correctly, you don't remove the cloth, it stays inside.

What a great idea!! I like the front because the folds are softer and I could see a kink in one of the folds when you showed the back. Thanks for all of your expertise, I try a lot of your techniques and ideas. I guess if you want a dark back , a thin layer first, then the chiffon layer with the Pearl's and if needed a thin clear top layer. Cheers

It looks like ribbons on the back. The front looks like I want those little trinkets in the folds. The front version reminds me of vintage Victorian Valentine's and I want there to be little charms and hearts and glitter/diamonte/pearls tucked into the folds. It's very hard to choose a side.

I like both sides, but the one spot where the fold touches the mold on the back side I don't like as much. I also find the three spots seen from the front where the edge of the fabric comes away from the side is a little distracting. But overall, for a second try, its fabulous!!!

I really like both sides but had a thought that maybe place a darker colored paper (like construction paper) behind might show you what it would resemble if you did a darker top or bottom to the piece. You could check out which side might look like what with it
