the latest G-Shock MR-G Square, Frogman and Rangeman. g-shock.co.uk/ Master Watch also supports the whole watch industry and will chat about watches in general. Any comments and feedback are more than welcome.
You know looking at pictures I thought the titanium Frogman with the yellow accents looked better. But now seeing you handle them I really like the look of the one with blue accents and rubber strap.
I picked my MRGB5000R1 up at the AD today- I put my order in in early November - knew I was going to love this one. The rubber strap is pretty hefty - I like that it doesn’t have the endlinks that jut out. The satin-finished case makes it look more premium that the glossy B1. I was surprised how the gold outline disappears at certain angles. I hope there’s an R2, waiting for the red outline. Just wish the MRG logo had a bluish tint to it. I would like to see a square with the MiP display but without all the other features and without the bulk of the DWH. The forged carbon GCW made me think of wood - super light weight like a wooden bracelet. The fuchsia one is really something else.
it is a good release and yes I do like the strap also as I think I know the best way to cut. You use a razor blade and I will do a video when I can. A thin red line version would be nice and you are right about the matt finish.
@@douglaskrueger357 more comfortable on the rubber.. BUT.. you have to remember that you would need to size this rubber strap with a razor blade that is a bit fiddly but if you're careful it is fine. If I get chance I will size this rubber strap on camera.
@@douglaskrueger357 the strap wears perfect but beware: if you’re wrist is under 6 1/4” then you might be out of luck because the straps comes really long and has to be cut down to size - I bought it from a local AD and the watchmaker sized it for me. I would have ruined the strap if I’d done it. The strap is very nice, substantial.
That was epic ! I’d like to see a MIP display on those high end square g-shock, without any fitness functions. Also the Frogman is impressive. I own a Mudmaster since november and since then my square G’s and Omega’s are collecting dust. I don’t know what it is, maybe the alliance between the hands, the masculine/futuristic/rugged look and the feel of top-quality. Cheers .
I can imagine we will see the MIP displays in the full-metals in the future. I don't think there is a positive MIP yet so that is going to be interesting. Thank you for your comment.
i received galaxy carbon square with lots of blue colour !! epic random combination i just saw one ,that bluish on top // my first watch ever ! I was watching Rolex vs grand Seiko but this carbon fun watch is from another planet looks better feels better then anything else and its not offensive ooo look i got rolex / omega/ gs just people who know will know :))
Would suck to cut that strap on the mrg square to get that perfect fit and then have a gain or loss in weight/wrist size and no longer have the watch fit. Would also make reselling the watch difficult because the buyer would need almost the same size wrist lol.
I think many people will think the same. Having to cut a strap today (Patek do it also) is probably not the way forward. It does offer a good fit and no excess part but it does seem that we should have another solution for a watch at this price. Some thing similar to the strap on the Frogman would have been nice if not better for me at least.
@masterwatch Have a cameo titanium square Gshock, but this MTG-B3000 on a rubber is my new favourite 😍 just a lot more comfortable than the titanium Square
I might have considered the square if the strap options were more universal. Having a one-use (unsellable) strap with no viable replacements except one specifically made for the watch, is a no-go for me. On the other hand I love the GMW-B5000 titaniums because they are so much fun swapping out different straps and bezels.
you are correct actually and I imagine many others will think the same. For me, I am still thinking though I think it is going to be very good to wear and you will have to buy a spare strap for ever you think you might sell it.
Hi, nice to get a look at watches inside Casio London shop. Frogs look great! H1000 has some considerable drawbacks as shown by other reviewers and current users. The "soft" material surrounding the glass, with a little effort can be peeled back, not much protection from mud/water, and the solar charging is pretty poor. I have had 15 G Shocks over the years, and they still keep hyping features which really aren't that good. Casio have never really listened to customers, just produce watches to show how clever their engineers are.
The charging helps if you're not using all the fitness features. May not charge it to high but does help. Mine has had only one charge from new a month ago. Just notifications on, still at 3 bars of battery.
yes the end links are part of the watch head and completely different to the metal squares. It is a feature I do like myself actually that there are differences and causes for interest.
@@masterwatch They are as there have been very negative reviews on You Tube on this watch and put people off on buying this watch. I loved your review and re ordered the watch after a person on another review put me off and made me return the watch. Glad I re-ordered the watch after watching your video as I did regret returning it so thank you for posting this video.
@@PANKAJ36 in my opinion if you think you like the watch you definitely will when you have it in your hand. For me these types of watches are for special occasions actually.
@@masterwatch I really want the metal square to go with the resin one. But for the price in my country, I found a full titanium Citizen for an extra $100. Hopefully one day it will be in my collection.
I'm going to be traveling to Japan and want to pick up a few F91-W's and whatever else I might find that I like. I'm looking for the best experience. Which G-shock, or Casio store should I visit?
I've met some very impressive people wearing the F91... regards G-Shock stores I've yet to visit one in Japan (it is on my To Do list) but I imagine they are all pretty good.
I thought the same but it does not fit. The B5000R and other MRG-B5000 cases have a different strap design with no centre piece on the case... I bet other people thought the same.
@@allwatchedup I understand G-Shock did it this way for material properties reason so they did not have to integrate plastic into the strap, the MRG strap being more solid at the end with more rubber for strength when it fits to the case.
you are right the MRG-B5000R rubber strap only fits the B5000R as the case aperture does not have a centre lug. I think G-Shock have done this for technical reasons so there is enough rubber material in the strap for it to be strong.
What you're mentioning is true but let's not forget that there will be no metal to rubber band swapping for MRGs unless you use the regular b5000 rubber strap or forget it all together. It's a smart trick by Casio to make us buy one with metal band and one with rubber😂 But seeing this MRG I must admit I'm becoming tempted to put a rubber band on my TB. I think rubber and titanium make a nice contrast!
@@masterwatch will you be picking up the black and blue frog as well? I’m going to see it at my AD in person soon and excited to see it. The yellow one, is sold out and doesn’t seem possible to get one.
