Here are the directions to my new club house if you want to come and hang. flatfiv.co/pag.... There is fun swag there too! My PO Box is: Leland Sklar PO Box 92316 600 Lincoln Ave. Pasadena, CA 91109-9998
Leland you are a force! Thanks so much for taking time today to hangout with us. My 2 boys and I were in the presence of music royalty. We enjoyed all the story sharing. You are one cool man!
What a wonderful moment seeing Alex relax and speak and they all will cherish that moment forever. It was great to see Alex warm up and be comfortable and that is special. Awesome to relive the memories of the previous walk through from a couple of years ago. Enjoy the magnificent sound check and thank you for the growing memories Lee and for the people we meet along the way . 👍☮️
Hi Steven, hi Sue, 😊😊 Every time I hear voiceover say Steven Scattergood, I think of the "All Good Gifts Around Us" song from Godspell. I had the Sower Went To Sow Some Seed, parable part, in that musical, which I think came after that song, and then sang the Where Are You Going, duet, with a friend I wish I could find and sing with again. I think of her every time I hear Carole King singing with the woman that used to be Danny's girlfriend. I just love harmonizing like that. I go searching wanting to find a way to call her every time. I'm just about 300 videos behind trying to deal without the last few weeks of extra paperwork again, and checking my apartment inspection list points, to make sure it will pass. The heat outside and the red bugs are wearing me out. Don't wanna take antihistamine but sort of have to. The mosquitos have also been velcro-esque, They seem to like my face and neck.
@@splashesin8 Hi Audrey great to read your comment… Wow Godspell.. I found most of the songs from the movie on RU-vid and how l miss those days. Here in Melbourne Australia no shops were open on Sundays and we all went to church. Nothing ever required to be locked up and you could leave the keys in the car. There was always a Sunday roast. How things have changed. There actually is a singer in England called Polly Scattergood though she is no relation. Years ago I had my spleen removed after a motorcycle accident and I have to watch certain things mosquitoes here can be a problem. Aussies call them Mozzies. Sounds like you are keeping busy and I hope that you don’t overdo anything.🙏👍☮️
Good evening, Lee! 🥰❤ What a lovely venue! Look at a of that memorabilia! 🎸🤩 And, what lovely boys with their dad! 🥰 Have a great show & sound check. I know you love sound check! 😂🎸👍🥰
That is so Nice.....Patrick you have some good boys!!!! Love that Alex and Chris(hopefully) got to meet Burt. WHat a special relationship. Great Music too. Hope you have some Dionne Warwick???? I am sure since you mentioned Alfie. It is not Burt but in the lines of Burt & Herb and that ERA have you tried Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 with the boys??? That era give it a shot if not.
They carpentry good in woodworking. Fact with heart to it. Leland, I hope youve gotten a good fill on good food to wanderings about. They got good homemade food.
I have never been to Shipshewana, but my sister (who lives in Phoenix, AZ) drives there in her RV once or twice a year to buy Shipshewana salts, peppers, no salts and spices, some of which she sends to us in London. I thought Shipshewana was one big spice farm. That venue has got one great museum of a lobby. Fun tour. I'll have to ask sis if she's ever been there. The dad and his sons at the top of the video - that was special. My wife works in a special needs school, and we've had many kids over the last 20 years at our rock school with special needs. So many special needs kids are not special needs when it comes to making music. They are just special. It's great to be a small part of that journey.
Hey lee. You keep on astounding me. You are amazing with people. I’m really proud that I am following you. Otherwise I would miss out with these wonderful videos. They are really a treat. You are doing great work keeping us entertained. Thank you dear sir. 🙏🏻
Our world is a per of new discovery. It's beautiful to discovery the beautiful you would have never experienced. Unless you tour the land or world to run forwards to you.❤
Great concert tonight, Lee. Thanks for taking the time to speak with me after the show and embarrassing my wife with our special picture. It was a special night.
After mentioning the Southern Spirit Tour with the Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special & The Outlaws (all particular favorites) and knowing how long ago that was (early 1990s), to hear Leland say "I'm blanking here" wile trying to retrieve the 'who else', I'm in friggin awe of the man's memory. Geez, Leland, you remember more on a daily basis even with the grind of being on the road 24/7. That's enough to dull anyone's memory, but yours is sharp as a tack! Give yourself a break, son! Okay, I took a moment to look back & The Fabulous Thunderbirds were there too. Of course, Barefoot Servants that Lee has mention touring with, was on the bill. Lee, I think MENSA's looking for you. 🙂
Great chatting with you Leland and thanks for signing that bass for us. We love hosting you and this band at the Blue Gate! looking forward to your return!
Thanks for sharing guys...most of us would never know... ok, did not expect to see Lyle videoing from the front of the bus, that is hilarious... Dang they started the sound check without you!
Autism is more recognized now because of its dynamic range of people who are on the spectrum. Here is a partial list of some: Marty Balin, David Byrne, Daryl Hannah, Dan Aykroyd, Tim Burton, Charles Darwin, Emily Dickinson, Sir Isaac Newton, Michelangelo, and George Orwell to name a few. I just turned eighty years old and I am also autistic as well, but when I grew up there were no diagnosis of autism spectrum. Instead I learned the art of being a thespian or as it is known in the autistic community as masking. Autism in the late 1940’s was defined only as an inability to use language or be toilet trained. I instead became very good at thespian work that it gave me a leg up on my career as a photojournalist and being able to easily assimilate with a variety of subjects. My best skill was training and working with both canines and horses, but was forced to make a living as a line mechanic for both trucks and automobiles as they were more plentiful and paid well.
Hey Artemis. So good to read your comment and speaking about autism. My strength years ago was mathematics and I was known as the human calculator and my attention to detail helped me with a career with 2 huge American petrochemical companies here in Australia. Amazing now knowing more about myself and rediscovering me with greater self awareness and esteem. Have to tell you one day about my madcap adventures with horses which is comical to say the least.
So cool you showed all that. I've been there for many great shows. It is novel that such a state of the art theater is in the middle of Amish country. I hope your show went great!
We had a great big one of those Pegasus horses all done in red lights on a giant billboard for a long time. I don't know if we still have it but it was magnificent and had the effect of red neon flying off a building top, over the overpass for the loop exit to head down 277 South, off the Winters freeway in Abilene. I think the service station it was over, has become simply a car wash since then. The only other place I remember seeing that glorious of a lit up Pegasus was at a station near the replica of the Parthenon in Nashville, TN.
🐴🐴 The Amish/Mennonite thing sounds very familiar, but we couldn't specifically remember the interior (so many headshots, little time...). Argh, we might have to study for our next Sklar U exam! Will have to Google Burt Bacharach now (... and afflicting the compositionally literate).
Thank you Leland.... Nice to have the pre-scope on that venue. Interesting place.... We are playing there on Halloween this Fall. I'm with the Phil Collins Experience. I think you met our keyboard player in Kansas City a week or so ago.
If memory serves Mr Sklar , I believe that when you were performing at the Blue Gate arena in Indiana 2 years ago ,you caught one of the horse and buggies passing right by you on video as you were on your walkabout tour of the complex ..all right on cue ? Kind regards to you all .
Leland you a great person, but I think you should have invited that gentleman and his sons to the sound check instead of making them wait for you. They just wanted to get a picture with you. They could have come in and watched the sound check. It would have made it a special afternoon for them.
@@artemisXsidecrossThanks Artemis! 🤗 ☮️ (my logic and sanity is restored! 🤗 ☮️ 🌟 💖) Leland paying homage to his original visit, a while back.. 👍🧙🏼♂️🖕💖✨⚡
