That's our master alto sax man, Brad! 🎷🎶🎼🎵🎧🥰 I could sit & listen to him all day & night. 😎 Walking six blocks for ice cream! Only you! 🍦 😋 🤣 Have a great show tonight, Lee! Keep selling those books! 📚 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚😅 Love you SO much, Brad, too! 🎸🎷🎶🎼🎵🥰😎
All of y’all that are on the LL traveling roadshow, are such a hoot and a virtual joy to meet and meet again - so appreciative of the opportunity to live vicariously through the gift of Lee’s venue snapshots production 👍🏻👏
It’s amazing how many people it takes to put in this show each night! This one does have the feel of a convention center. I’m from Minneapolis! Happy travels! Enjoy your ice cream!
Really a clean space…very sparsely decorated…cool and no bones about it…. 😊 different…..always great to see Brad😊 Thanks for the tour Leland… love that area.. Y’all enjoy!!🌹🪷🌹🪷🌹🪷❤️💕🎶🥰🖕🖕🖕🖕👍
everybody needs to have a brad as a friend. what a cat. a bright shining soul under this sun. and you are so right: learn your crap before you get the gear! 👍👍👍
Standing show! I’m glad we opted to see you at Kettlehouse where we could sit. We almost decided to see you at the Elm instead. Thanks for signing a copy of your book for me. Meeting you was a thrill and an honor!
Glad Brad is so good natured..it means we get to hear him often, and that’s a daily highlight for me..Another thorough tour, thanks so much. Have fun 🖕 ps. Hope the barricade does keep you safe from the throng of fans, storming the stage.
Have a nice walk to the ice cream shop and scarf out on your favorite flavors. I am getting ready for a bowl of Chocolate Chip Mint ice cream myself. How are Maureen and the boys? Hoping Maureen's healing is going well. Please let her know she is in my prayers. Interesting gig set up, but you're right Brad always finds the place to practice with the best acoustics. It would be cool to see you and Russ and Brad jam in a place like that just to have fun. Don't forget to always stay healthy and be safe.
I was walking down the street and saw the busses outside of the hotel. Why so many, that would be a big band. And then it hit me, hope it's a good show wish I could make it. Will see you at Wolf Trap in August. Did y'all have lunch at Cateye? Tried to go there at noon and it was closed.
it's really cool to see the variability in the architecture of all these venues. The best part of it all, though, is the people you work with and the fun of it all!
To my untrained eye Mr Sklar , The Elm ,in Bozeman ,Montana , looks like a gigantic recording studio . Everything sound proofed and tons of space in which to make magical music ....keep up the good work .
Again, thanks for the behind the scenes videos! These are really entertaining to see how different venues are set up. Since you’re going to be stuck on the bus for a while, maybe take us on a tour of the tour bus? Just a thought. Have a great day
The moment Leland’s voice began being recorded the acoustics of where Brad was playing were noticeable. It gave me a smile to see from list of performers that Lucinda Williams appeared there July 9, 2024, a few days before Lyle Lovett and his Large Band. Let us know if the ice cream was the famed ‘Big Dipper Cardamom Ice Cream’ mentioned a few times. Edit: The layout reminded me of dance floors that were part of the Avalon Ball Room and the earliest Fillmore music venues in San Francisco. Good music and dance seemed to be a good match. ☮
Who laid the different legs of this tour ? A thousand miles between some venues is nuts. Sounds like something my old band manager would do back in the late sixties.
It's a very clean industrial feel to it...but being a ol fart..standing room..I'd have a hard time..love Brad's playing in a room that has nice reverb. You scream..I scream for ice cream..let us know how it was..stay safe be safe Leland 🙏 Sklar Peace 🙏 ✌️ ✌️ 🙏 ☮️ ..!!!!!
Dear Mr. Sklar, AKA Long Travel Man- (God, what a bus marathon, you guys should have an off day when you get there, I would hope.) What a weird venue. I mean, at least it's fresh and new, and one nice thing is the dressing rooms with ... windows! If was audience, if I found the show was floor-standing, it would be a definite "oh, hell, no!". Maybe there WILL be seats set up? I mean, you did say it was hours before soundcheck, so maybe seat setup was held off until they were sure all setup is done? I did notice the sign saying "BALCONY CLOSED", which nixed my earlier thought that it might be alright in the little section of five rows up top. Although I didn't see any seats stashed anywhere in your video tour. Speaking of style/vibe/whatzit... you said convention center, my first (and lingering) thought was that it almost seemed like a university theater/music department "theater lab" kind of thing, where it really isn't designed to be a great performance venue, it's just a bare functional place for people to learn doing stuff, and maybe there might be an occasional audience for a play or a dance company or something. Oh yeah.... I always enjoy the "random shit junk storage closet". Seriously, it's funny. Always a little touch of daily reality for the people who think everything in this kind of stuff is all shiny silver gold fur-lined everything.
Brad's practice style sounds like a chicago or st Louis back street in the music district in a lonely ally with a blues sound of a single sax sounds greart..
Still working on this one, but wanted to pitch a video concept/methodology to you. So many music students and musicians watch your channel; I was thinking it would be useful to them if you did a video on something like insurance/unions. I remember you saying something about the subject in relation to non-union work, but it would be interesting to know how various people negotiate real world issues. We just spoke to a mom whose daughter studied music but now does makeup freelance (including music videos), but has no health insurance. Some people could have complications down the line with social security/Medicare as well I would guess. In terms of methodology, you could probably make very brief videos and then put them in your "private" file and, at some point string them together for one topic video....

Effective customer circulation, safe and secure entry points and efficient concession design were the driving considerations in designing the ELM.
Hope you enjoyed your time in our little frontier town. The Elm does indeed have a modern/industrial vibe. I believe it opened in 2021. I saw Pinky and the Floyd there a few years ago and somewhere in hour 3, I had to bail: my 55+ legs were done for the night. Got a balcony seat when I saw Amos Lee there.
Ask Buck, Willie,Steve,Warren, Jim Cox , Russ if they would like to do a How they got started interview.....Amy..... any of the gang? Your pick and as I always say ALWAYS YOUR CALL..... Just a thought. Never everrrrr any pressure ever. Buck fixing his slide made me think it.
I remember.....Just forgot a couple.Ha-ha...memory ain't so great as it use to be and many vids to shuffle through. Yogi's, Greg's, Daryl's was great too. Just know I love your interviews. You have a knack for it along with all your videos. Great channel Lee!!!! The songs, Musicians, Taking us on Tour behind the scenes....Venue Tours(where can lee take us...Inside a Pipe organ in Canada???? Where's Brad?) The best!! All of it!!!!
A very modern theatre in a town with few surrounding hills, not the Montana of my imagination. Brad needs to play longer notes to take advantage of that echoing room. Enjoy the gig, safe travels.
Just can't see them for the wild fire smoke. Bridger Range to the NE, Gallatin Range to the S, Madison Range to the SW, Tobacco Root Range to the W, Elkhorn Range to the NW, Horseshoe Hills to the N & Storey Hills immediately to the E. 360° of mountains & hills.
I do not know if you saw it....Warren gave you a big wave at 4:28. You might have waved but I know you would not leave him hangin you had just moved camera up and missed it I think. Just a heads up.
Funny, I live in Bozeman and have never been to the Elm! Wish you had let us know you were here! We could have made sure your (Neotech) neoprene bass straps are all OK!
Hey there, Lee and all! Dang! What a treat to catch a video when it posts. That is rare these days - being so busy myself. I'm loving the tour. By the way, Lee, have any fans offered you gifts to take home?
@@m1nn1s Hey, Andy! Everyone is doing alright despite the intense heat. I have been working on a handful of projects inside and outside of my day job. Those keep me pretty dang busy. How are things in your part of the world?
Hey lee. When you are going to wander, take Brad with you. (If he wants to) Then you can share (war)stories 😁where you two played or just talk nonsense😉 just an idea. Greetings sir.
Only seats are on the upper level and you pay extra for them. Access to the upper level is not guaranteed unless you pay for one of the seats ... there.
