What an edition! The big match was a sunday must like church in the 70s. Peter Cook 😂 dogs, and all those players. Rachid Harkouk was a friend of the family back in the day Tel Fenwick, Hoddle, Sansom. R's lost though.
The date of my 11th birthday marked by a nice 1-0 win by the mighty reds. I liked Peter Taylor as a player at Spurs but maybe there were just too many flair players in the team at that time and Hoddle was always going to be the future. What a player Steve Perryman was for Spurs too,he could have played at any team at the time but was loyal to Tottenham.
Sansom and Nicholas went to Arsenal,Harkouk played for Algeria in Espana 82 and got injured(was never the same again) and Terry Venables went to QPR,Barcelona and back to Spurs. A great England manager, so close to winning Euro 96 (Football's Coming Home etc) but then became part-time Aussie manager whilst being my team's chairman (Portsmouth, which he bought for £1). Some real dodgy stuff and Pompey ended up with some Aussie players.😮
