I'm pretty sure the location based automations don't run in the background. They just send you a notification which you can tap on to run the shortcut.

You can bypass not being able to share automations by making a shortcut and then have the automation run the shortcut. Then you share the shortcut and it’s only minimal work to be done on setting up the automation

Wow, just wow, stoped using iOS for like 3 years and now I have an iPhone 11, and it’s the first time I see this, (especially the automations part) its just sooo useful, I liked the alarm one, I replicated it myself. If you want to share the automation, create a shortcut that does the tasks. You can use the Automation to run the shortcut and you can share the shortcut.

tip: i use Tailor (app) to join screen shorts. yes it is another app, but it does so muchbetter job, it makes all the pic as if it is one big pic, it doesnt show the repeated part in the pic, and as soon as you open the app, it starts joining, it knows your lastest screenshort(similars) as long as you have some overlap when taking screen shot. highly recommand. the free version only leaves tiny caption under the pic which doesnt affect anything at all !. it is so good.

Hello, I wonder if you can help me? I made my own carplay automation after being inspired. However, even with a 5 second delay and action go play through carplay, the spoken text starts but quickly stops/plays intermittently. When I open up the automation and then press the play button it works fine? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

How do I get Siri to read Reminders more fluidly? I have a Morning Briefing Shortcut that tells me the weather, current date, upcoming events for the day, and reminders with a due date of today. Brandon Butch, there is a bug in the morning automation. I made it tell me the date and some weather information . Then speak it in Dutch. This works fine in the shortcuts app. But when the automation triggers when my alarm is stopped, then it will read my own typed text in Dutch but the Date and Weather will all be in English. Can’t figure out how to fix it, it just all seems to be an unknown bug?

you can save your insta tags as keyboard abbreviations so you just have to write something like #mustang and it replaces that word with all your hashtags. even faster than a siri shortcut ;)
