Great video I’m hearing a lot in the Muay Thai community that the muay femur style is under appreciated by promotions and crowds due to the lack of savagery demonstrated by the muay matt style just wondering if there’s a truth to this ?
It is mostly underappreciated in ONE fc which is the most watched muay thai organisation around nowdays. They want fighters to push forward and go for the ko instead of using their defensive and tricky style. For example, khunsueklek probably the best muay femur around nowdays had a 3-0 record in ONE fc yet he ended up leaving the promotion. His team claimed that they were told that he should change his style to more aggressive which they didnt like. I think fans of muay thai still like the femur style, it just doesnt have huge appeal with the casual fanbase, which ONE is trying to target.
@@bso1469 ah I see that makes sense that’s really sad the femur style isn’t as prevalent anymore I’m quite torn between the femur and Matt style myself
I wish there were any gyms close by to me with a Femur Kru but there isn't :/ Stuck with Muay Tae style coach, but I do spar with Femur style regardless because I find it more fun.
Femur is just a bunch of tactics and a style, you can learn different styles by just using normal techniques, kicking style can be femur, femur just means technical counter fighting
@@Epig420 I know what a femur is. Femur doesn't limit to one weapon, it's combination of all depending on the situation. You can be a Muay Tae with counter style and it doesn't make you a Muay Femur, true Muay Femur can use all the weapons, because that's what you need to be a good counter striker, it all depends on what your opponent gives you.
