I disabled the set feature of my CZ527 so all my triggers would be as close as possible to the same. To convert MRAD to MOA just divide by 3, CD. e.g. 2.1MRAD/3=7 MOA. You'll need to remember to adjust elevation down about a half moa for every 500 yards range to make up for field expedient computation*. There are 3.434 MOA per MRAD. Therefore, each 1/10th MRAD/MIL = 0.3434 MOA. That's obviously slightly over* 1/3rd MOA but very close. Consequently, every 3/10th MRAD/MIL =1 MOA (plus just a wee little bit*). I too prefer MOA but learned MRAD/MILs in the Army many, many, moons ago. It's not the easiest thing to explain. But, I hope that helps you better deal with your scope. Just out of curiosity, are the turret adjustments in MOA or MRAD. I've actually seen scopes produced with an MRAD reticle and MOA turret adjustments and vice versa. How stupid can manufacturers get?
I'm looking to upgrade the optic on my .17 Remmington , I was checking out the Vortex viper pst gen 2 ,, what's your opinion , I'm on the fence between this one and a Leupold model of some type , Im a bit old school , looking to get the biggest bang for my buck
You want to compare $2-300.00 scopes, Vortex and Leupold, probably 50-50. If you want to talk $600, 800 or a thousand bucks, the Vortex are OK at best, but no match for Leupolds. My best optics top out around a grand, anything above that I can't help you with. That said, if you find a gen II viper & the price is right, jump on it. it will do you fine.
I love my CZ527 .17 Hornet. Once nailed a PD standing straight up on his mound at a lasered 356 yds. At that distance there was no blood spatter. He just slowly tipped over like Artie Johnson on his tricycle on Laugh In. Haha. Incidentally, my .17 Hornet prefers a magnum primer with 1680 ball powder.
Take a look at a Timney trigger for the CZ 527. It's not listed but their Cz 550 trigger works perfect. Set mine at 1lb, 12oz or so. After thousands of ground squirrels, enough with the factory trigger.
1 click (1/10 MRAD) = 1 cm (approx. 1/3 inch at 100 meters), so if you want to move an inch to the right at 50 meters, you're gonna need about six clicks pal. You US lads mostly use MOA don't you. It's funny; I think in feet and inches, range find in meters and shoot in MRAD... LOL, this is what happens when you were born in a time when everything was 'imperial', but live through a period when your country goes metric. I love the 17 HMR; personally, I find the Hornady 17 grain ballistic tips more accurate; consistently well under 1 MOA at 100 meters, even with a donkey line me behind the trigger. All the best from the UK mate.👍
I don't want to encroach on your turf, but I would LOVE to visit and go on a shoot with you. I think you could get some free PR and payed trips on MY dime. I know you don't need the help, but DAM ! I'd like to just shake your hand.
3.9” @ 100 meters, 3.6” @ 100 yards. What’s interesting if you’re doing everything in metric, 1/10 of a Mil at 100 meters is simply 1cm per click. I can’t get my brain to think that way though 😂
I have the savage 25 and if anyone is wondering it is not worth it factory ammo shoots not very well so I reloaded it 1 1/2" at 100 everyone says that's good it's not when my hmr shoots way better
