You are brave. I can't handle over 5 hours of flight. I get bored. That's why I keep putting off going back to Europe because it's a 13 hour flight from Las Vegas 😊
Thank you :) I kinda have to be, I live in Australia. If I wanna get out of the country, I have to fly - no trains or buses like in the US or Europe. I enjoy flying though. I guess in your case, you have the excuse of going on countries as pit stops. Vegas > New York > London > Paris > Rome? Hahaha :)
Thank you very much for the kind words. Your comment just makes my day! Yes, 17 hours are a lot. During the flight, it didn't feel like it though. I should visit Ottawa next time I'm in Canada! It looks beautiful in pictures.
Never try United in-flight food, so I can't compare. However, I have heard the same thing. Based on this experience alone, my food was amazing onboard! At least for my Asian palate anyway. Hahaha 😁😆😅Maybe I should fly with them next time!
Great trip report but their service isn't as far as what cambodians would do to New York City is flying via Singapore on Singapore Airlines because my brothers did this both ways and didn't like the service. I suggested to them fly Singapore Airlines out of Newark Airport because it's going to be cheaper than Philippine Airlines towards MNL your case back to Cambodia when booked during a sale. If you have this scenario which one would you choose between the two $1696 SQ21 combined with SQ918 to MNL or PR127 JFK-MNL at $1800?
Thanks for the comment. If Singapore Airlines is cheaper, I will go with them. Based on my experiences, if we just compare airline to airline, they both are great (on par to each other). The only downside for PAL, in my opinion, is their airport. Too hectic and crowded. In my case, it is way cheaper during the holidays. I got it for $2200 AUD with a break for a short getaway in the Philippines before going back home. I find Singapore Airlines losing their touch when it comes to food and amenities. Thanks for sharing your insight again :)
@@TovnaDavid I agree and NAIA is chaotic since PR uses the Older Terminal 1 International while SQ joins NH and UA in Terminal 3 in MNL. For SQ my aunt in Perth does PER-SIN-MNL better service
@TovnaDavid no problem at all in fact my aunt in Perth always does this PER-SIN-MNL with these flights SQ214/216 to SQ910 if missed SQ912 followed by SQ224 to SQ916 there is the option of waiting 7hrs from the arrival of SQ224 in Singapore Changi for SQ918. The last option is very useful provided you want to go together with someone that did new york-ewr to NAIA T3 via Singapore Changi.
Generally, cuz it was during the holiday. I literally flew on Dec 26th. So, they took what they could get. It was not that bad, especially for Filipinos who just wanted to do a direct flight to save time than money. It was decently priced as well.
Flew with the same airlines November of last year and MNL-JFK was at full-capacity. JFK-MNL was probably 90% full. I think for those of us who want direct flights to get to our destinations sooner, we just have to find ways to make the loooong trip bearable since there are no alternatives. I personally wasn't bored because I came prepared with books, an iPad full of movies (because as expected I'd seen most of the movies in their IFE) and was able to catch some shut eye on the plane as well. Also want to mention that for international flights, we get to airport 4-5 hours before our flight so imagine how long that entire journey was-almost an entire day!
@@Adashki Love your comment! 4-5 hours! That's massive! I do 3 hours max if I had big bags. I guess it would make more sense for Americans as you guys have more people at the airport. Traveling from North America is generally tiring, the distance and the time zone difference is really taxing on the body.
This December it's going to be Bonjour Paris, as Air France 🇫🇷 has recently announced that they will start their direct nonstop flights to Manila from Paris Charles De Gaulle it will be easier for European visitors going to the Philippines and for us Schengen Visa holders who regularly travel to Europe 🇪🇺. Currently I still have to go on layovers on my European travels as at present there are no direct flights between the Philippines and Europe.
@@TovnaDavid It would be better for European Airlines to return to the Philippines, during the time of Gloria Arroyo European carriers ceased flying to the Philippines due to the unfair playing field, favoritism of PAL and CEB and the discriminatory taxes on foreign carriers which was abolished in 2012, Air France 🇫🇷 has made a bold move on restoring direct flights between the Philippines and Europe after more than 20 years.
@@TovnaDavid If you're planning to travel with Air France 🇫🇷 better take a crash course in the French language. I can't wait to be greeted again with "Bonjour et Bienvenue á Bord" by the cabin crew when I travel to France in December. If PAL does plan to fly to Paris Charles De Gaulle the cabin crew must take up French language courses or better hire a French speaker from among Filipinos living in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Did you know that Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport is 23km Northeast of the French capital in the town of Roissy in the region of Ile de France opened in 1974 named after the French WW2 General and Statesman.
Is that your 1st time flying Philippine airlines, Airbus A350-900 to Manila, if so, how is your trip to the Philippines, how many hours did you sleep on the plane do you remember how much you pay to fly Philippine airlines?
During that trip, I had flown with them before from Australia. However, it was my first time doing this ultra-long haul flight. After this video, I took an adventure trip with my cousin to Cebu and Palawan. New vlog will come out next year. I paid around $2200 AUD for all my PAL flights, Perth to Manila, Manila to Vancouver, New York to Manila, Manila to Perth. I booked 11 months in advance, in January and flew in December. I got lucky.
