Thank you guys for taking us fishing with you! I really enjoy watching these videos and you explain everything really well! I always enjoy watching any type of fishing or hunting videos! And a big Thank You to the fishermen for keeping food on our tables! I know like farming, fishing is often a thankless job and people take both for granted. I appreciate all the hard work and long hours that you put in! You more than earned a like and my sub. You also earned my respect! 😊 Now I hope you guy get some barn doors!

Ki-ur-ic (use a throaty growl while saying) is what I grew up calling Bullheads aka skullpins, Irishlords. Enjoy watching you fish around the island where I grew up and did the same , but not the same, quite a few differences than the way of 40 years ago.

Is ice an expense that you have to pay for or is it provided by the fish processors as part of helping to guarantee a better product that they get at the port?

Seems like itd be worth a try to move the reel to the stern a bit more so you could cast from starboard too?

@garyammerman2153

Len,/Matt: Maybe you should consider a holder to pin removed gangions onto, as needed , while Matt is attending to scrap fish or wrestling a hot halibut. Maybe a 3/8 SS rod say 12 or 14" long, bent and welded on current bullwork railing just aft of hauling station. Your gangion handoffs right now appear to be ackward for both of you.

Excuse me for cutting in, but why not? What would be the alternative?
@MUSICMAN0055
@MUSICMAN0055 11 месяцев назад
well the fish will eat that old bait so your feeding the stock your trying to catch . Alternative, throw it in a bucket , maybe freeze it and use it for crab bait , bring it ashore and feed it to wildlife maybe

Thanks for the video guys. I really like the old setup. This setup when your bringing in the line we can't see the fish till there being pulled into the boat. Old view we got to see the fish in the water all the way up and into the boat.

When you're setting out, the small tubes you place the bait in before clipping the line, is that for safety?
@joshuachristiansen4253
@joshuachristiansen4253 11 месяцев назад
That's to keep the baited hooks from getting snagged on the tube or swinging when there's little bit of waves.
@joshuachristiansen4253
@joshuachristiansen4253 11 месяцев назад
Because trust me that ain't fun when your hook gets snagged on the table when the boat is going and you have yo tell the captain to stop the boat for a little bit, I've did that a couple times fishing old harbor and it's scary as hell when that happens.
