just wanted to say I am PROUD of You man :) gg for creating this immensely useful RU-vid channel(s). ye I consider all ur channels just part of one thing. I am glad u actually earn well from this. Become as rich as possible, you earned it. BEST LUCK. Thanks for being inspiration and source of relaxation for me.
Not sure if my comment was manually removed or not. I just want to once again state my displeasure with this opening. It was annoying and lazy and didn't match the vibe of the series at all. The 1999 adaptation was superior in both art style and music.
That scene where Killua becomes sad as Gon is walking away from him and then perking up when Alluka appears is so impactful. I can feel the tears coming just thinking about the events leading up to and following that part in the anime.
I just realized that in the Chimera Ant Arc opening Netero is using one hand and standing on one leg. These are the parts he lost to Merurem before using the Zero Hand.
@@piemaster831Things like that game are actually why he lost those specific limbs, too. Meruem stated something along the lines of noticing that Netero seems to unconsciously use those limbs less often, and they were therefore easier to find openings for.
Your analysis of the juxtaposition between Kurapika and Leorio in the opening really changes how I watch the scene where they are both trying to convince Gon what type or Hunter to be.
10:27 What I also love about the montage is that while all the troupe members are showcasing their abilities, we have Chrollo in the background- reflecting the fact that the troupe members are contained within him, that is his identity and likewise are their abilities. And luckily we got two troupe members later give their abilities to him no questions asked in the manga.
I think Meruem rising from underwater is also representing his moral compass the light that lifts him might be Komugi that raises him from the depths of morality to even surpassing humanity in the end
@@soultheconfusing9563 By the end of the arc the ants humanity is very much juxtaposed with humanities darkness (humanity decides to exterminate the ants while Meruem decides not to exterminate humanity; Pitou tries to heal Komugi while Gon would let her die to get revenge)
@@anthonywalden239 humanity didnt 100 percent decide to exterminate the ants tho colt, Welfin and lobster guy are proof of this unless ur referring to the hunter association demanding the ants to be exterminated to be fair people at the hunter association have seen and heard nothing but bad things about the ants and how much havoc they’ve caused so it kinda makes sense they would want them exterminated lol Meruem was giving the chance to change his way of thought because of komugi he was able to understand the importance of human worth. The hunters have witnessed nothing but destruction caused by these creatures so they didn’t really get the same opportunity that Meruem did
4:10 always looked to me like that slum where the old lady quizzes them during the exam. Kurapika also looks like he’s inside the exam area where everyone’s hunting for each other.
Is amasing how you can extract all kind of content from HxH, and with high quality, and that tells about your hard work and how brilliant this anime was.
I will start off by saying that I am mesmerized by the content of the video and your capacity to pick up on those symbols while presenting this whole interpretation. The quality of your content is top notch, from the ideas that are recorded to your video editing. Having said that, I gotta applaud the attention to detail that this anime has in general, but as showcased in this video, the opening as well. I will honestly admit, the first time I watched the show, I didn't even notice the song was the same all throughout the anime (I know...ha ha) :))))) That's how much I paid attention to the intros ...probably not watched them at all. Still, I had fallen in love with the second ending even then....with the epicenes extension that it has within the ending of the episode.
You should make a video analyzing the fight of zeno and silva vs chrollo, that is peak nen battle, they just don't engage in mindless violence each party calculates the opponent moves and tries to get their goals with minimum losses, Zeno even said they can't kill chrollo without sacrifice and chrollo was basically like "I know that you know about my power but you also know that I know that, so I can't take your power without killing you" Also chrollo only got caught by Zeno when silva distracted him for second by increasing his aura, every move was calculated beforehand
12:09 (spoilers for greed island arc) I think the rock also could represent the big rock card gon used to trap and defeat genthru at the end of the arc
definitely in my top 2 anime openings :D and cool shout out to Sash Mash the content on their channel may be a bit cutesy and not serious on the whole but they are well made videos and some of the serious ones (like their breakdown of Departure) are really good. I best like how they dropped the fact that the Kanji for Departure (発) is pronounced Hatsu which is neat. Also interesting that the first volume of the story is called Day Of Departure.
Love your videos. Watching your videos made me decide to watch both Hunter Hunter and One Piece. So thank you. But here in the States, we use both autumn and fall. It fully depends on who you talk to and where you are in the States.
Thanks for putting out such good content. Your videos help take me back to the time I was 17 and watched all of hunter x hunter and makes me feel better.
I also like the fact that the rock card is the most common and simple card possible. But, it is also the card that guarantees their victory over Genthru.
I know there isn't much information to go off of but it would be interesting to compare gon in the chimera ant arc before rage to the examiners. Would Gon already be on the same level of them in terms of strength? Or a hypothesis on what nen abilities the examiners might possess would be cool.
In my last birthday we were playing anime openings on the TV and one of my friends put HxH 2011 all openings. We were gonna change it and he said "Nooo, this one has different animation this time for real!"
Uvogin also is a pure enhancer. And their party trick is to not need one. Which is repeated on several occasions throughout the story in one form or the other. They are just baseline considered the most capable fighters. At the cost of weird abilities of course put in pure combat ability just punching A LOT harder can be enough. I mean others use gimmicks just to punch harder anyways.
It struck me in my last rewatch that Paku seems to be holding the gun towards her own head with a smile on her face. I refuse to believe this was not intentional.
Meruem's rapid development is similar to Picollos in the original Dragon Ball. Picollo went from baby, to toddler, to adult and was the strongest being on earth all within a short time span. Actually according to the lore he should be constantly ahead or at least competitively close to Goku for a long time due to how his power scale ⚖️ works but the writer changes the rules and made it so that Goku will always be ahead thanks to Super Saiyan level.....its like how Gon kind of cheated and gained massive levels to beat pitou- that was his version of super saiyan.....
According to Tekking and others, Killua realizes in the end that Gon is not a good influence on him or, like his father, is very self-centered and very selfish and has often gotten Killua into trouble because of it. That's why Killua doesn't want to be with Gon in the end and prefers to go his own way with his sister/brother. Does Liam see it that way too? You could also say Gon went from the good side to the evil side and developed into where Killua developed from the evil side to the good side. I would love to see what happens next with them. I wouldn't be surprised that there's a time skip before we see Killua and Gon again.
**Spoiler** I know that hunters are required to learn Nen in the secret exam. I wonder what happens to those who don’t. Also I wonder if you could be so strong as to not need Nen. Maybe Gon could stick around in some capacity if that were the case. I also have this idea that Gon could be some sort of Nen construct or contract himself. This would explain why he doesn’t have a mom. It would also explain his crazy luck and ridiculous body. Him finding his dad was the constraint placed on him and satisfying it could have a huge boon, maybe getting his nen back 🤷 maybe it just played a role in allowing him to live after chimera ant arc
Maybe is my wishful thinking, but a way for Gon to return to the story I think we need to give him a timeskip. And the events of the dark continent are perfect. Maybe the expedition takes more than 2 or 3 years to complete and by that time Gonwill be more mature. Perhaps he stayed 1 year inwhale Island and the rest living and training with Kite or reconnected with Killua. There are still threats that can motivate Gon such as Gyro. Maybe by this time Gyro started his plan to bring Evil and destruction to the world. Idk, just want my boys back. (Like this so Liam can see and maybe make a video on it)
Only watched the anime to a certain point, so definitely don't have as much of an in depth knowledge so Gon's ability, has 3 "attacks" right- and when he sees kite perish he goes into a rage mode where he becomes more physically enhanced is it possible this is a close representation of how his ability will manifest? When he learns to manipulate his nen better when he thinks about throwing rock(closed fist) he becomes big like ugo harness more of his nen into physical power, when he thinks about throwing scissors (creating that sharp edge like aura) his body would becomes more lean and agile like hisokas or netero focused on speed and precision, technically his emitter ability would his worst ability because it isn't actually an enhancer move it's an emitter technique it would more likely revert him to a weaker state as he throws his stored up aura instead of using it to physically enhanced but it is a decent technique in a pinch being his long range ability. Technically you would see what he was planning to throw beforehand as you would see it manifest physically that is until he learns to cheat and change his attacks mid battle, but he would probably always go with rock first as it builds the most strength first and (cheat) change his attacks based on his opponent and lose some of that physical power for speed or to emit blasts for those pesky hard to reach villains, technically it would cost him strength to use those attacks but he could always just charge up another round later in the fight right, and focus more on the type of energy or attack he thinks would be more effective either strength or speed, be his long range attack causes him to lose those things mid battle being just a versitile option he isn't really designed for that is unless he's ready to play some more
So when he fights killua he would probably do something like build up as much strength into rock as he could to be able to use paper as much as possible to either destabilize his nen aura or shoot the ground so he loses his footing so he could emit enough energy to switch into scissors form of attack almost flawlessly to close in for a beat down and probably end it by charging a final rock attack to put his lights out, where as if he fought someone like hisokas he would mostly focus on scissors to keep that edge like aura to counter Bungie gum (aka use his aura to cut through hisokas)but it would probably limit his ability to shoot as many projectiles before having to charge his body again because he doesn't technically store as much strength in the scissors attack compared to rock because like suggested it's more about precision
Also thanks for being here cause I can't really talk to the writer about the show because it's like telling someone else how to raise their kid, which as most parents know is almost the quickest way to get someone to tell you to " Go F***k Yourself"
