Most things expand when heated (ice to water phase change an exception with a few others). Muscovite will only expand a little making useful in blast furnaces. The mica that will expand more is Vermiculite.

Ive been wanting to use a non synthetic material as a mica for a drinking glass coaster, something that can withstand hot thee, and cold ice block drinks with lotsa of condensation. Not breaking apart after possible swelling / not cracking too easily. Any advise?
I know of lampshades being made from muscovite, perhaps those companies also make cups? Not really sure. If you wanted to make one yourself, mica is elastic and with big enough sheets you may be able to glue sheets together and wrap them around a mold.
Looking to sell a huge piece of white, transparent mica. A " book" of about 30-35 lbs. Perfect for a craftsman of muscovite windows... Any idea how I would vend this?
