Hi Dave, just wondering do you know if Maxpadition have made a wider shoulder strap for their versipacks this year. I'm reluctant to part with my old Fatboy because I like how the shoulder strap is 2 inches wide and made out of rougher material. From what I can tell in different videos about the launch of last years products the new shoulder strap on these bags is only an inch or so wide and that seat belt material has too much of a silky feeling and is a little bit too feminine for my liking. I absolutely love Maxpadition and have used my Fatboy every day for the last 4 years, a testament to how well made these products are. I'd love to upgrade to a new pack cos they deserve my business but the shoulder strap is a bit of a hang up for me so any extra info from you would be greatly appreciated.

hi i live in peru , the shoot show and another events like that dont exist in my country the only similar is the sitdef made once per year but not exhibit outdoor and survival equippment-salute

Depends what you are buying. Bag wise, I use to say Maxpedition, but they are over priced these days. I say neither, so many other companies, especially in Europe but takes a bit of research. Direct Action, Wisport, Kelty, Mystery Ranch, Eberlestock (super $$$$) and old trusty 5.11. Condor is cheaper.

They have some nice looking stuff but I'm disappointed to see that they are made in Taiwan . I think it's a little over priced considering the fact.

Understood... You should know that as far as Asia manufacturing - Taiwan is know as THE best over all producing country as far as quality. ALSO... we don't know what Tim and his team put into innovation, design, research, development... we don't know the full extent of the higher quality of materials, the double and triple stitching etc. The dude will BLOW your mind with how EVERY detail of his packs built to last! WATCH... you will be seeing other companies rip off the designs he invented and their prices WILL be cheaper... because they didn't work for the innovations. They'll use cheaper materials and we'll buy their stuff because it looks like MAXPEDITION but it's half the price... Sorry, I have a soft spot for companies that RISK it and innovate. Not satisfied with the status quo. Tim is one of those people. Would you pay 30% to 50% more to have it made in USA? This it the issue all manufacturers have to deal with. We all want cheap stuff but we all also want to be paid well - in the USA. When it boils down to it... it's all about the cost of labor. We can surge and make more goods in the USA... and at a cheaper cost, but it is going to be because we automate better than anyone else in the world - which is NOT going to mean more jobs - except for robotic techs, programmers etc. LOL - With the MSK-1 knife - I am well aware of the way business and manufacturing works... So - I have a soft spot for innovators like Tim and the Maxpedition Team. Thanks for the comment bro! ~david

Would have to disagree, Japan is number one is quality control and production value. You get what you pay for from Japan. Taiwan is the only other country outside of Japan in Asia that has similar QC basically due to copying Japanese manufacturing structure.

I only give a thumbs up because it's Dave, but I haven't been impresses with Maxpedition for a couple years now. Become too big for their shoes, prices have gone up, packs have gotten smaller and less practical, their simply trying to be tactiCOOL. And what the hell was that triangle piece of crap?
