Thank you - I'd love to do another video! In terms of how I found them... they were honestly just trends that I'd noticed, and then confirmed were still on-trend by using Google. I just spend a lot of time on websites & social media platforms in-general noticing them, that I can't help but see trends forming. So it really just, for better or for worse, comes down to spending a lot of time on websites/apps like: * Etsy * RU-vid * TikTok * Facebook * Instagram * Pinterest

Different strokes for different folks is my personal take on it: there are no best businesses, there are just different businesses, and it's about choosing one that matches with your personality, which is why I like to try and talk about lots of different ideas, even if they wouldn't be businesses that would be right for me, they might be right for someone else 🌞

Hi Sarah, I just started an Etsy POD store about one month ago. I have been watching a few RU-vid videos about running a Etsy POD store. On one guys RU-vid channel he was saying that you should only upload one design a day to your shop. He said if you upload more than one design a day. It will course the Etsy algorithm to affect traffic going to your store in a negative way. I was just wondering what your opinion was on this. Cheers Michael
With stain glass about 4 years ago "evan and katelyn" did an experimental tutorial on how to do stain glass with resin, about 3 years ago "my little homestead" showed using this concept to make a beautiful stain glass door for their kitchen. Because resin feels easier to work with than glass for hobbyists i feel this is why it blew up

Temu is the website for consumers, Aliexpress is the website where those same companies effectively sell their products unbranded for companies, usually cheaper

I'm curious about the knitting trend and how to turn that into a profitable business. I've been a fibre artist for years and knit almost every day. I could, of course, do the POD stuff but I'm wondering if there's a way to make the actual knitting itself profitable. Instagram seems to be saturated with short videos on various stitch tutorials, cast-ons and bind-offs. And if I wanted to film myself going from raw fleece through spinning and dyeing and knitting, it would literally take weeks for not very much return. And if I created my own patterns to sell digitally, I assume I'd need a decent grasp of how SEO works, which I don't lol. I suppose what I'm asking is where you'd start if you were an expert knitter wanting to profit from the trend, if designing with canva wasn't your forte?
That's a great question. What I will say, is don't be put off by seeing lots of videos getting millions of views on TikTok. That just means there is heaps of demand for them. From TikTok's perspective, in a hot niche, they are desperate for content. You think about it: a video on average is about maybe 30 seconds. People watch it on average for 50% of the video length, so 15 seconds. That means that to entertain someone that loves the knitting niche for 1 hour every day they need to find 240 new videos every single day, just to entertain them for 1 hour. On TikTok, there isn't really "saturation" in hot niches because of this reason - they are desperate for the content. You could also sell knitting patterns you create on Etsy too!
Ive started test publishing items on etsy (whilst i perfect my shopify store) but getting the first buy is the worst, because youve got no reviews and no one really likes to take risks. Any suggestions? Xx

I don't do 1:1 consulting, I am sorry! But I can tell you the story behind the name, lol. The Ted is a long story, I actually share it on the WT website. Basically this channel was originally a spin off from an email newsletter created by my friend Ted. I created videos for the newsletter and we split the revenue. But he grew bored of it and stopped the newsletter and I kept the RU-vid channel and just didn't change the name! It's been mine now for many years. I probably should have changed the name in retrospect, but youtube deletes all of your comments if you change the name, so I never did.
Just any decent middle of the range laptop is fine, honestly, this isn't a super grunty business that needs a lot of computing power! If you wanted to also do video editing, then you would need to go for a higher end laptop.
You will have to study the content free on RU-vid and grow stronger as a man fighting against your fear and self doubt, but if you deeply believe you can you will. It may take time however. Do a little every day. Set goals.

I remember telling my accounting teacher in high school that I would be a millionaire in my 20s. Even then, when I had a successful online store, he still laughed and said to me: "sure Sarah, sure you will." And walked off. If I had listened to everyone who said, "it will never happen to you" then I would I have given up. That's my perspective, on this sort of take that becries inspirational thumbnails 🙏

Having run succesful businesses and sold them there is never a mention of the amount of money required to build a business. You have, apparently done well for yourself, why keep creating videos? Ego? Your main source of income? Setting up a POD business to earn $3k a month is, without significant investment, near impossible!
It's disappointing to see a popular influencer like you promoting harmful, scammy, unethical fads like the high-protein, low-carb craze. Protein powders aren't necessary, and anyone who profits off human ignorance in this way is doing the wrong thing. Carbs are amazing. Carbs keep us all alive. It's super easy to get enough protein without any special products or calculations, simply by eating enough food.
I eat mostly vegan. I am not on a high protein diet in the slightest. I eat lots of carbs. My favorite food is literally potato. This video isn't me saying people should eat high protein. It's just me pointing out that it's currently on trend online 🙏 and also, I do want to quickly note, that just because that's the diet I choose to eat, isn't me saying others should eat that either. That is my choice and just mine, I respect everyone's right to choose 🙏
Protein isn't needed at all. The body uses amino acids so protein would need to be broken down into amino acids before it could be used. It is an alarming trend. People were already eating too much and the idea is spreading with no scientific support. Simply anecdotal claims posted in comments, probably by bots.
All these videos claiming to make thousands & thousands of dollars....if they earn that much then why wouldn't you be doing them yourself? "I tried it so you didnt have to" creators are now making videos about your claims and so far I havent seen any that actually earn the money you claim.
I mean, I don't know what to say to this? If it makes so much money, why wouldn't I do them all? It's impossible to do every business, every side hustle. Did you know that most products on Amazon aren't sold by Amazon? So if selling products on Amazon makes money, why doesn't Amazon just sell them themselves? Because even Amazon can't source and sell all of the products, despite being literally one of the largest corporations in the world. I do the businesses I enjoy and like, and I share my experiences on this channel, but I also share other ideas so other entrepreneurs can find one that they enjoy too, since we all enjoy different things. In addition, to anyone making one of those videos - most successful businesses take 2+ years to be profitable. Did they actually truly try any business ideas I have shared on this channel, earnestly, for 2+ years? Please don't treat my channel like a "how to get rich quick" channel. It isn't that sort of channel at all. It's for people building real businesses, not chasing get rich quick schemes.
