Oh my word, guys, this is literally my dream to see the falls! We didn't know there was sooooo much to do there, thank you for showing us. I would absolutely love to do the zipline, and I agree one definitely for a bucket list item. The Niagra Glen looks so nice especially for a picnic with that view 💜 Guys what an awesome video, I feel so educated on what to do in the area if we visit there one day. Thank you for sharing these awesome activities with us
Thank you so much! ❤ It's a beautiful area and we usually go once a year at least since it is so close. Plenty to do in the area. If you're ever in Ontario, Canada I'd definitely recommend a weekend there.
I’ve live 10 min away my entire life. I hope you get to the falls. It’s an amazing place. The falls are spectacular but there is so much else to see and do there. You have to hike down into the gorge to see the power of the river and the beauty of the gorge. The maid of the mist boat takes you right up into the base of the falls All the beautiful gardens the butterfly conservatory Clifton hill casinos the historic town of Niagara on the lake is so beautiful the entire surrounding area is all vineyards. I know the owners of a few of the vineyards and farms in the area. Do a google search for a video called tripping the Niagara. It’s an absolutely stunning video of the river from the mouth at Lake Ontario all the way up to the falls. As the camera goes up the river it shows what’s along that part of the river. I hope you can make the trip you won’t be disappointed I never get tired of visiting the falls
We would gladly check out any of these places, but Niagra Glenn, whirlpool jetboat, butterfly conservatory, and of course the breweries will be on top of our list next time we visit. We experienced Timothy Hill briefly a few years ago. 100% tourist trap for sure, but agreed that it's still kind of fun as long as you are prepared for the crowds and the prices!
As a local, I'm saddened you didn't mention the amazing rose gardens at the Horticultural school right next to the Butterfly Conservatory. There is a magnificent rose garden which is perfect for wedding pictures. And the roses actually have lovely fragrances, something we don't experience that much anymore.
What a wealth of information and interesting points of interest. Definitely not for just a weekend- with so many great things to do and see. Well documented. Great video. 👍 🎥 🌷 🙋♀️
Yay for wine tasting! We are so glad we splurged a little to do the Maid of the Mist boat tour. Cute little tiny chapel! We did not know about Laura Secord...good for her!
I visited Niagara Falls so long ago...I definitely need to plan a trip back and visit the Canadian side! Wine tasting would be on the top of my list of things to do, with ziplining and the jetboat tour coming in at a close second. My daughter is obsessed with butterflies, she would love the butterfly conservatory. I'll have to tell her about it...over 2,000 butterflies! She would go nuts!
I live, worked went to school/college and raised my family in Niagara. For an urban area, you won't find better! The tourist attractions and various other activities in and around Niagara are world class!!! This video only tipped the iceberg but is a brilliant introduction to start your Niagara adventure!!! Great job guys!!!👍👍👍👍
Excellent video. As a local Niagarian resident I implore everyone who visits the Falls to please wear a mask and distance yourself from groups at the attractions. The past two summers when lockdowns were lifted the Falls was literally overwhelmed with tourists without masks and in very large groups in close proximity. Mayor Diodatti largely ignored this much like the mayor of Amity ignored the shark in Jaws and the crowds proliferated out of control on weekends.
Wow that's the story of a perfect vacation. Great blend of nature's beauty and other attractions. Your video grabbed me back towards my nf tour I have with goldenbustours.
We definitely want to go on a river cruise but the whirlpool jetboat tour sounds tempting too! And we would go for the one that gets you completely soaked :D
We are planning the trip to Niagara Falls for the first time and are so excited to do some of these activities! so happy to watch your vlog before our trip! Thank you so much
👏👏👏 Very well done. I live less than an hour drive of Niagara Falls and one of the reason why I migrated in Canada. A dream since I was little girl. Been and experience all places to visit from your lists with the exception of Fort George and Laura Secord( not a very fan of history😉) But, thanks to your video, will definitely visit those places before winter arrive this year. Again, 👏👏👏. I am now your newest subscriber because of this video. Keep it up. Oopps, hope to see Rome ( Vatican ) on your future videos.🤞🤞🤞
I have never been to Niagara Falls and can't wait to go, heard the Canadian side is much nicer! River cruise is something I would love to experience. I had no idea about ths zip lining and many other activities over there. 😊 Awesome video!!
Thanks for the vlog.. I have visited Niagara last weekend and visited and tried most of the activities mentioned in the video.. missed few.. 3-4 days visit and you can cover everything in Niagara..
Two things I liked best you didn't really talk about. The jet boat you mentioned but going upstream into the rapids. Or going near the whirlpool which is a sight in itself. Another good attraction is taking an elevator and getting out behind the falls as you watch the water rush downward just a few feet in front of you.
A good list. The casino games are probably why many people go, but I'm glad you didn't mention it. I'm also glad you didn't say Marineland too. I also think the festival of lights in winter is nice. And the bike path, Dufferin Islands, the greenhouse, hiking the Bruce trail, picnic at Queenston heights near Brock's monument, botanical gardens, the Shaw festival, and fireworks by the falls.
Thanks for the video! I visited them in '91 from the Canadian side. Took the Maid of the Mist tour and had a group lunch with classmates on my school trip. It was a really nice place and would like to go back to appreciate it as an adult.
As a life long resident of the Niagara Region I'll add a few attractions not mentioned. Journey behind the Falls is quite popular among tourists. It's hard to grasp the sheer power of the rushing water until you're quite close to it. The 2 casinos can be fun especially at night or if the weather makes outdoor activities less inviting.
As a person from Niagara falls, the New York side,.. this seems very interesting,.. Clifton hill was our main hangout when we would walk across,.. used to date someone in Chippewa, literally all we have is The Casino and Maid of the Mist,..
Really enjoyed watching the video, brings back many childhood memories when I was a kid growing up in Michigan. At least the first 6 years of my life, we always went up there for vacation. I remember how much I love the skylawn because it had an indoor amusement park and was so different. I also remember the garden clock and the panasonic. Those towers were awesome and the falls was breathtaking. I did the maid of the mist as a kid when it was on the Canadian side but I understand it has moved over to the American side. There was also the gift shop where you could walk down the stairs and be behind the falls which was amazing.
It's definitely a nostalgic place! I think they did move it to the US side and they have the Horn Blower or something like that on the Canadian side now. Thanks for watching 🙂
Come to Niagara and shop at the many weed stores we have to offer. If your tired from all the attractions call and get your weed delivered to your door Enjoy your stay LOL :-) Peace
There's also the supposedly haunted Drummond Hill Cemetery in Niagara Falls! Site of the 1814 Battle of Lundy's Lane. There's a historical monument in the cemetery too.
It depends on what you want to do. Niagara could be a long weekend... 2 nights and 3 days if you are quick at sightseeing. Montreal is more of a regular city... not a whole bunch of amusement attractions like in Niagara. But beautiful old Town, Mont Royal and other things to see in the area.
Title: 17 Things to do in Niagara Falls Me: Taking photos, photos and photos...? Also me: Wow, Idk there's a wine tasting event(?), although not a big fan of alcohol lol
@@TheAverageTourist I must of caught them off guard because the few people I asked didn't know the time (cell phones not common thing yet) nor did they get the humor in it.
I liked the format of the video. No extra music or any other sound. Yet, disagree with the order. Been in the area 30-40 times. Never put vinery on the top of everything else! Otherwise you covered everything
The Falls Incline Railway? The tiny chapel? And an unenthusiastic recommendation for the amazing jet boats? There are dozens of amazing attractions that were exempted in favour of these questionable mentions.
Hahaha. I live here. Its kind of funny hearing how much people love the area. IMO the only cool thing about Niagara is the falls... thats the only thing that is still cool for me at least
You also forgot to mention dozens of golf courses, beaches, hiking, cycling, camping, port dalhousie, casinos... the best food is definitely away from the main tourist area.
It really depends on the scenery you're looking for. November can be a bit dreary if all of the leaves have fallen off the trees. I've been during each season and think summer and autumn are the prettiest - but also the busiest!
i live here and there ie so much to do as a tourist this video doesnt even show half the good stuff ...we would love to have visitors again its been real quiet since this stupid pandemic , and thays good for you as a tourist because there are so little people here you wont wait long to take an adventure and you will be able to do more in a day then normal , that means you get the most out of your visit , so come on , what you waiting for come visit , i guarantee you wont be disappointed.....
It’s SO BORING!….for me that is! Lol! My folks retired, left the city (Toronto ), and bought a beautiful home about 10 minutes away from the falls. I know every single rock, every tree, every blade of grass! I could literally walk through it blind folded. It’s a shame…having been there thousands of times throughout my life, I can’t remember the first time I saw it. Like anything else, you kind of just take it for granted, and don’t really think much about it at all. Every time we have family or friends come from out of town, that and the CN tower, are the first two places they want to visit, so I end up playing tour guide, more times than I can remember. I can still appreciate its beauty, but I’m not big on crowds, and that place just gets more crowded with each passing year, with people from all over the globe, that come all the way here, just to see something that I totally ignore. It’s basically one giant tourist trap, and they just keep building more and more casinos, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment complexes. It really is Vegas north, which is why I don’t go there very often anymore, it’s just too crowded…more accurately, chaotic crowded (I live in downtown downtown Toronto, but the crowds here are well organized, unlike the falls). It’s the same for anyone who lives in or near a world famous tourist attraction, they ignore it because they’re so use to it. I can see the CN tower from my living room window (I’m in a condo on a high floor). It makes for a beautiful view, but after I while, you don’t even notice it, yet we get tourists from across the globe who come just to see the tower……I’ve ALWASY wanted to see the pyramids in Egypt, they’re absolutely fascinating to me, but to my buddy Emil, whom I met while he was visiting here, it’s boring as hell, he too can see them from his home in Cairo (I think it’s Cairo), and doesn’t really notice them, I guess it’s just what you’re use to. But hey, don’t let that stop you, it really is a spectacular sight…everyone I take to both attractions, are absolutely mesmerized by them, and can’t get enough…but I’m 52, and lived here all my life…wish I could see things through the eyes of a tourist, so I could at least still have the “wow” factor.
It's so true how when you've lived in a place or near a place it can lose its excitement. I try to see the potential that each place has to offer both for myself and to share with other people who may never get to that place or would love to visit. And in speaking of Vegas, I love it there!! I'm sure there's people who live there that hate it and would love to just come visit Toronto! I agree... both places get very crowded. I suppose we are desensitized to our own "backyard" of attractions and want to get out and explore the world. Before the pandemic I wouldn't have even considered a vacation in Canada a vacation. And now I'm happy to get out to Niagara Falls for the weekend 🤣
@@TheAverageTourist I guess you have have a “staycation”, and play tourist in your own city to see what all the fuss it about…tourism is Toronto’s #1 industry, worth billions….yeah, surprised me too!
Haha Toronto's no. 1 industry isn't tourism! It's the overblown real estate, especially for developers and foreign buyers! Besides, what is there left to see and do in Toronto when it's just condo after condo in the last 25 years.
Memories! Niagara was our very first vlog, but we missed so much of this. Another great reason to go back! I would love to try the wineries. We missed those! Zip lining would also be an exciting way to experience the falls! So many great suggestions Sara! Great tips!
I live in the falls. I’m not sure how a railcar and the table rock centre made this list but not the aerocar, the journey behind the falls, the adventure course, white water walk, great wolf lodge, the TWO casinos…
@Brett Heart the housing market here is absolutely fucked. People from Toronto sell their houses for 2 mil then raise our market alot cause they retire down here and don't mind spending 700 grand for a 2 bed one bath.
@Brett Heart it is absolutely smart on their part, cause they can comfortably live off 1.2mil the rest of their life. Some buy property in nigara but still commute to Toronto for work. Since 08 I think the niagara housing market has gone up something like 300%. Definitely should have gotten in before then, now I'd recommend somewhere else, out east is nice :)
We love Niagara Falls. We visited back in 2009 and revisited in 2019. We had a great time both times. There is so much to see and do there. Thanks for sharing.
The Jetboats are SUPER fun! in the summer months the open top is great. You will get wet but its not bad as the heat will dry you quickly. If it cool out check out the covered version.
When I visited Niagara Falls (probably decades ago smh), that is exactly what we did. We stopped on the American side to explore on the way to Toronto. And stopped on the Canadian side on the way back. Definitely worth it. But I don't remember them having all of these activities like zip lining. But I do remember the boat rides into the falls.
I loved our trip to Niagara Falls! It was so nice to relive it through your video. I do wish we had watched something like this before we went because we. had no idea there would be quite this much to see and do there!
I had no idea there was so much to do around Niagara! What a place to go ziplining - I would definitely love to do that. Also the boat rides that get soaked (if it's a warm day) 😃
Love this video.Very informative. I like Niagara when there is not to many people visiting. and I will definitely do the Zipline at the Falls. Cause it looks epic AF.
You forgot the caves behind the Canadian Falls and the white water walk that has north America's class 6 rapids that are the worst rapids in the world Europe is the only other countries that has class 6 rapids it is a nice walk watching the rapids that reach over 15 feet in hight or almost 5 meters in hight.. you also forgot the gardens and duffirn islands as well as Brock's monument... And the Spanish Airo Car over the wirlpool .. as well as the free fall simulation as well as Marine Land..and I max movie theater the Glen helicopter ride over the falls..and great Wolf Lodge.. kids would love that place...
Love the way you said, “prices are what you’d expect for a tourist trap, I mean attraction!” 🤣 we say it so often too. We really hope to visit Niagara Falls one day. Will definitely refer back to this when we finally get there!
It's so true, sometimes the prices are nutty for what you get, and just because it's in a popular spot. But there are some reasonably priced and free things to do in the area. I will be going back for sure 😊
I'm an American living in Niagara falls Ontario. Well, I actually live in St. Catharines about 30 mins away. It's nice to see the falls whenever I want. Fort George is pretty cool.
