The Story of Aaron Livesy from Itv's soap opera Emmerdale.

Synopsis: Concerned, Adam visits the hospital and Chas is hopeful that he'll coax Aaron to talk. Alone, Adam makes a lighthearted joke about Aaron's suicide attempt and it's clear that Aaron's happy to have him there.
However, when Chas returns, Aaron tells her that she should go home. Unable to keep calm, Chas reels at how selfish he is and leaves him to take in her words. Will Aaron listen to his mother? Will Adam be the one to help Aaron through this tough time?

She really has no idea what so ever, your son tried to kill himself, you don't shout at him and tell him to just deal with it. If he was my son I wouldn't be talking and acting like she does.

I think Aaron still wants Adam for something more than friendship, but.... he knows it is never to happen.. They being friends is the freshest of the story line.

I know Chas is never going to win mother of the year & she has a lot to answer for as far as Aaron is concerned but she is kind of right to tell him to get over himself, even if it was a little harshly put. He is only 18, his life is just beginging. Many of us if we could meet ourselves that young would be totally emberrassed at the crap we worried about then. . Thank yopu for posting this xx

At least Aaron could connect with Adam. That was about the only ray of sunshine in this bleak episode. Chas needs to see a therapist.

@createdcall You are right on all counts. Aaron needs a friend that will accept him and Adam is it. Their bond seems stronger now and that look on Aarons face when Adam talks is heartbreaking. We know what Aaron wants and he can't have it with Adam. BTW, has anyone tried calling Jackson. Maybe in light of current situation he might drop the charges and come and visit.

I think there is a real danger is dismissing how Aaron is feeling. He's telling people he still wants to die. Aaron has proven himself to be seious about it. He's not threatening it, he's made a serious attempt. And while coming that close to death would straighten some people out, it seems to only have reinforced his will to die. Yelling at him constantly to stop thinking that way isn't helping him much. tbc

@roneboo Sometimes- and I think this is one of them- the bonds of friendship and brotherhood are much stronger than romantic ones. It is clear that Aaron is in need of a peer who accepts him as he his and can show Aaron how to accept himself. Adam is that person, and I think that symbiosis only works if the interest is not self-serving (ie- non-romantic).

@soapfan97 When people have got to such a low ebb that they really feel the only way out for them is to die, financial consideration wouldn't come into it. And if you recall this story line, I repeat Aaron wasn't making a gesture, like taking a few aspirin and make sure he was found, he entered the garage when no one was there or due to be there till next day, sealed up the door, switched the car engine on and exp cted to die. It was only because Adam had a sense of danger he went & found him

@AlanRM1000 yes, i never knew that before !! so do you live in the usa then i take it !! i watch this soap like alot because i just catch up on episodes that i havnt seen because over here in england it practically rains 24/7 and there isnt really anythin else to do !! do you get warm weather where you live ??

I don't like that Chas says that it's not her fault he's gay 'cause it's noones fault. It's not something bad that you'd blame someone for. I love Aaron & I can't help but awww when he tells Adam that he wishes they could be mates again

@FBWBJ It's not clear to me whether Jackson is a mate or just an acquaintance. Since he apparently pressed charges against Aaron, Jackson may not want to see him and vice versa. Also, I don't know how Jackson would know, unless something was reported in the newspaper and he happened to read it.

@ClochesJerusalem It is!. When my dad had his stroke, he lay in bed trying to kill himself with his pull up thingy. He said, he didn't want to be half a man. My mom lit into him. Told him, "if that's what you want, go ahead. I'll even help. Then I'll have the houses, the cars and all the money. And you will leave your son without a father." Then she left. Was the best thing she could have done. He began to fight back.. Chas was right. this time. Aaron and Aaron alone has to deal.

The Oracle Runner He does like Adam, but he knows nothing will happen, he just wants his friend back, even though Adam says their still BFF's, Aaron feels like he ruined their friendship because he tried to kiss Adam.

@AlanRM1000 ohh ok, i didnt no that you had to pay for treatment !! we do actually pay for NHS in a way as everybody pays TAX and some of that money goes to healthcare and things like that !! so do you get free perscriptions or druggs (legal ones that are perscribed by doctors) or anything ?? please reply

@soapfan97 Unless you are unemployed or over 60 you have to pay for prescriptions issued by GPs, (somewhere round about £7 an item)but if you are in hospital and a hospital doctor prescribes drugs they are free to everyone. Also, if you have a chronic illness, like epilepsy you get a Medical Exemption Cetitificate which gives you free medicines. Of course, it's true that you pay for the NHS in taxes, but to use the official term "treatment is free at the point of delivery"

chas has got a point you know... delivered very roughly and inappropriately, but it will help aaron see at the logical side of things.... sometimes, aaron needs more than pampering... his dingle temperaments needs roughing a bit so that he'll be challenged and let the tough guy out and not the wimpy, low-self-esteemed teenager. go chas, we love to hate you...

@ladylestat01 Paddy and Chas have to remember that teenagers are some of the most selfcentered and selfish people on the planet. Nothing can be as good or as bad as what is happening to them in this moment. Because all they see is this moment. And in this moment, Aaron is a hurt, lonely depressed kid who doesn't see that there can ever be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, interesting dialogue. "Also, I can't handle this....weird? The love between these two guys is "weird." Could the writers put a twist on this and get these two young men together? They have energy like Ollie and Christian/JohnPaul and Craig/Christian and Syed/Kyle and Fish/ these two actors (Adam and Aaron) have that energy like these other gay characters. I am waiting for this to happen.

@roneboo I like them just as friends. Why is it that so often we feel the need to force these characters into romantic situations? (perhaps it fulfills some desire we have that our own friendships could go that way too??? that we could magically make friendships romances and sex? just hazarding a guess)

@soapfan97 A bit late to answer, but in the States there is no equivalent to our NHS, so you wouldn't get free treatment - you have to pay for treatment and the actual room and length of stay. Again it's a bit late to reply, tromaxent, but that wasn't a stunt - he genuinely wanted at the time to die. If Adam hadn't have found him when he did, he would have died, because he tried to gas himself in the garage when everyone else had gone home - he had no idea he would be found
