Thank you! I was very close to stopping for sure, I was exhausted and getting overheated. Going to get the coin put in a bezel soon too to wear as aside from the gold 2 escudo find from 1715, I think it’s may favorite since it has a partial legible date, and this time my family was there with me to witness it, unlike hunting right after hurricanes haha. To my knowledge, only spots that are no no’s are private property without permission or under water wrecks already claimed or protected by the state. Same with 1715 beaches too. Getting ready for another hunt down there this winter, hoping to search for some gemstones from one wreck in particular too 🤞
@jerrytalley802
@jerrytalley802 2 месяца назад
Why did I think all water hunting near wrecks was off limits? You mentioned the wreck site and planned to detector the water. Up on the treasure cost I have always heard, only beach detecting only.
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 2 месяца назад
Wasn’t planning to detect the wreck site, was planning to water detect sandbars in other spots there. I wanted to dive the wreck just to see it, not detect it. Yes treasure coast is beach only unless you have a permit.
@MrNitsur
@MrNitsur 8 месяцев назад
Are these spots public or do you have to have permission to hunt them?
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 8 месяцев назад
Part of this was a residence rented, others were public accessed via boat. Would be hard to find a trail to walk through to get the access on the sand, so we had a boated rented anyways. Tried using the nokta makro underwater at the sand bars too, found nothing but bottle caps and pull tabs sadly.

Lots of internet searching. Also a lot of books. If you search online 1733 Florida keys treasure fleet books, you can find a few good ones. Takes a bit more digging to find info than the 1715 fleet or atocha.

No problem. Mdhtalk has a good one that’s like 150+ pages on the 1715 fleet too. I used that as a guideline when I started searching those wrecks a few years back. Empty handed many trips, but had some great finds in 2022 after hurricane Nicole. Best of luck to you, thank you for watching and happy hunting! Could you have legally used the metal detector on a known ship wreck? I thought if you were not a subcontractor to the lease holder or shipwreck rights owner it was illegal. Thanks for any information
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 2 месяца назад
Correct, I couldn’t use it in the water on a known wreck site with a lease on it or protected. On the beach or sand is fair game though unless is a state park or posted signs that you cannot detect. Check local laws too before going out

I have never seen a silver coin come out of the surf or come out that clean from the beach after being buried for three hundred years.
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 11 месяцев назад
I’ve seen some that have come out much cleaner than this one did. Jonah Martinez found a handful of them a few years back on the beach from 1715 fleet that came out with crazy detail, almost like the day they went down. I have found a few encrusted to the point you can’t tell what it is, I have found them decently detailed like this one. Thank you for watching and happy hunting to you

I have a couple of questions. First of all let me say something about myself. I have been metal detecting beaches for 30 years. I was a treasure diver for four years. I found over 350 Spanish gold coins, and hundreds of silver reales. OK now onto my questions. First of all you were on a beach that has zero erosion. You’re finding aluminum all over the place and there is seaweed at the site. Almost 0 odds of finding any treasure at that site. And then there’s your reaction after finding the coin. This find happened after you found gold and silver Spanish coins on a 1715 site. I’m sure you researched them afterwards. So you know exactly what a real looks like. And you came down to this page specifically hunting shipwreck coins. Yeah, when you found it, you said what is this? Is that a coin? I hope it’s a coin. It’s obviously a real. Yet you did not say that. And then you identified it as a two real. So you went from not knowing what it was to knowing that it was a 2 real. Also, if I found a Spanish coin at the beach, I would have stayed until the batteries in my metal detector died. I would’ve dug that whole beach up. Your video ended right after the fine. I thought that was weird. And finally, of all the hundreds of Spanish coins that I found that were in shallow water, or on the beach, had some kind of crust on them kind of like an Oreo cookie, and also the vast majority of them had a green tint. Both of your silver coins have a black patina that looks like it was put on there by somebody. You can take a perfectly shiny silver coin and put it in a Ziploc baggie with egg whites, and it will turn black overnight. Very simple to do. I’m not accusing you of anything. I’m just making observations. Another thing, you only show the shipwreck finds. Normally when somebody finds stuff like that, they find a shit load of modern coins and jewelry also. Or musketballs. You have nothing else to show. That is very suspicious.
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 5 месяцев назад
First off, thank you for your watching and response. I only tend to show videos when I find things. No one wants to watch normal coins being dug up. Tested that theory with my latest video and no one watched it. Went hunting again today, nothing but modern coins and there will not be a video posted of that hunt, or the one last week or the week before that. By the time I found the what turned out to be a 4 reale, I was exhausted and sunscreen burning through my eyes, so no, I couldn’t tell what it was right away. I did go back to the same site the following day as well (stayed close to the site for a week) and the following 2 days after. Found nothing but junk, so again no video. Beach I was on was private property as well, located almost directly across from a 1733 wreck site. I will have to start showing every find when I go hunting, though my research there shows people won’t stayed tuned for the whole video, which hurts the RU-vid algorithm to not show your stuff. I’ll have to try the egg white thing though, never heard of that before. Fun experiment with the kids at least. Been hunting for many years, only 2 with a gro pro in tow, and this is the only worth while find in that time to make a video of sadly. Again, thank you for watching and your observations as well, but this is nothing but genuine finding. Again I don’t post videos of finding all the garbage as it does get views and my video from last month on HHI beaches shows that. 1 hour condensed of modern coins, a broken silver necklace and tiny gold necklace. 600 views in a month, where normally it would get thousands and the click through rate is so bad that RU-vid doesn’t even suggest the video anymore. Best of luck hunting to you!

@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 9 месяцев назад
😂. I will gladly post the whole video if you’d like, you can watch all 4 hours to get to the good part if you’d like. Figured I’d spare people the time and fast forward vs have people click off after a minute because watching someone walk for hours is pretty boring. Thanks for watching anyways and sorry to disappoint your theory, but this was 100% found, not planted. I’ll make sure next hunt I put up the whole video for you though.

Definitely not the same coin or even close. Take another look and you will see the major differences. Vero one is an 8 reale, double the size of this one and again, not even close. Thanks for watching, but you may want to edit your comment once you see the differences 😉
@user-qb9bv4xy5b
@user-qb9bv4xy5b Год назад
@@Burntchurchtreasurehunting Not sure what the other guy sees, but pretty big differences in the coin found here and the ones from vero. That fact that this coin appears dated after the ships in 1715 sank is a telltale sign
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting Год назад
Yeah I didn’t want to get into that much detail, but good spot! 1715 fleet sank 15 or so years before this coin found here was minted. Not to mention it’s half the size of the 8 reale found on Vero. Thanks for watching!

@Burntchurchtreasurehunting
@Burntchurchtreasurehunting 11 месяцев назад
@somebeachdetecting thought the same thing. Found some before where you can’t see or make out a thing, others that come out without encrustation. I’ll never understand it. 1715 fleet coins found on the beach come out with crazy detail sometimes too, seen quite a few from other detectorists after storms that come out toned and that’s about it.
