I’m born in ronse and i still live here, or how we say it ‘geboren en getogen in rone’, some things you should know: the double headed eagle is our coat of arms, and we do not have a flemish flag, refusing to participate in the flemish flag project, unlike for example oudenaarde is. The main colors of ronse are white and green, wich can be seen on our flag. The station is actually build wrong, the side facing the front should’ve been the back, we got it gifted by brugge (major city, capital of west-flanders). We have a big statue wich is actually a fontain placed on ‘de grote markt’ whit the double headed eagle on it. We are also one of the only cities in east-flanders to have a big basic school (campus glorieux) wich fits around 800 students. We have a few w’s and legends: ‘boontjes, nutjes’, this is a man in ronse wich used to be at the ‘grote marks’ selling beans and nuts, he’s famous for his shout: ‘beuntjies nutjies’ or how to pronounce it in english: ‘boontchys nutchys’. We also have ‘glorieux’, wich was a man who helped out alot of poor people. Some people believe the word ‘glorious’ comes from him.
