When you break out the multitool for places that no one will see, you're at museum-level conservation and restoration of brickwork. Like it says in the old Audels Masons and Builders Guide, "When we build, let us think that we build forever."
Might I suggest a solution for the dust? We use a utility fan from Northern Tool. They have a hose you can drop it right in the chimney. Job looks fun. Be careful. Black Velvet Chimney Ps. After watching the video I see your fan beats my fan 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cool project. Couldn’t imagine grinding in a confined space like that, let alone gutting it from the attic space. That formula 51 is good stuff, a little harder with workability, but you basically get zero shrinkage cracks and it is a superior product to chambertech and chamber coat.
It seems like it would have made your job much easier if the homeowner would have "sacrificed" one of the fireplaces, no longer needing to make it work, just keeping "the old look of it" in the room. ....Anything to make that labyrinth of divisions a bit less complex. Well.... if you can do this job, you can do anything! It doesn't get more complicated then this!
The shape of it forms the inside walls of the downstairs fireplace flues. It also allows fireplaces to be spread far apart in different rooms while stemming into the same chimney.
