Configuring 1783-NATR (Network Address Translation Router)
This will show how to configure the Rockwell Automation 1783-NATR from scratch.
The router is strictly for 1:1 routing.
Remember to put the address of this NATR into the Automation Device (like a CompactLogix) Gateway address. Therefore if the NATR has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 then you put that IP address into the Gateway field of the CompactLogix ethernet setup.
I made this for myself, so I won't be checking the comments very frequently. I hope you find this useful.
Go ahead and play this at 1.5X speed... I was talking a little deliberate.
Thanks!
Todd

You assigned the NATR a public & private IP address, but the IP's that show up in linx are the ones you added in the Translation. If that's the case, then what's the purpose of having a private and public IP?

Am assuming you won't be able to see the device using Link Gateway?

Hi...I have done configuration already. But I did not understand when you set the IP address for RS link classic. Dose it same IP with public IP port. I try to the same and do not same. But my computer did not connect to PLC. Please help

can i ask why youre public ip adress for natr is 192.168.x.x instead of 10.10.x.x?
@karlkendall5750
@karlkendall5750 5 лет назад
The public address can be anything that you want, 10.10.x.x is just an example. You pick the one that is best for your setup.

@@karlkendall5750 this is our set up, natr has a private address of 192.168.0.85, 10.104.43.217 public address, we cant communicate with the plc because we cannot assign a gateway address to plc. what can be another solution so we can communicate with the plc? thank you

@@jameskevintingson8572 The real question here is why can't you set the gateway ip on your PLC? What model PLC is it?
