Is the head gasket a maintenance item for this vehicle? And if so, does that mean the head would have to be resurfaced everytime the head gasket is replaced?
no it’s not a maintenance item, and most likely if you have a blown head gasket the aluminum head will no longer be flat, so in turn yes it will need to be decked
Great video, I got one question. Which sequence should i use to torque down the head bolts, i’m working on the gasket on my 18’ accord, i’ve seen multiple videos where i need to first torque down to 22 ft pounds and then three 90* on each bolts, is this one accurate too or should i do the sequence you used?
Hallo TE videos, My name is Rizki, I really like your content about car repairs as my hobby is the same as the content you upload, I come from Indonesia and I dream of being able to work with you as my dream is to work abroad to gain a lot of experience in the automotive field, since the time my message was sent I have been working at a roadside car repair shop, what I am currently doing is to develop my potential in this field, if you agree I would love to join you someday...
Head got resurfaced, literally the first thing I said was I just got the head back lol. And yes you can re-use head bolts. That's why there is a option for re-using headbolts directly in the Honda I have on the computer. You torque to a different angle than if you are replacing them. This isn't my first rodeo.
