Hi Tom! Congratulations on your degree! I’ve been studying modules on OpenLean recently and I’m enjoying it. Thank you very much for the content. 😁👍

Thank you very much, OpenLearn has some great content on there for sure. Hopefully, I'll be a bit more active on RU-vid going forward, so you can expect some more content in the future.

Thanks for this upload Tom. I am currently on M250 Java' and TM255 Communication and information technologies. Studying towards Web development route. It's great to get a overview of someone else's experience of a similar path. I had to completed the Cisco JavaScript essentials courses to refresh my coding principles before starting M250. That has been a big help since the coding elements of TM111, TM112 and TM129 were so long ago. I look forward to seeing how you go forward after graduation. Good luck

Appreciated the video and I hope things workout for you in what your recapping and improving with. Nothing to be embarrassed about if mentioned what it is and not going forward with it etc. Whatever it is, an idea for your channel is to do vlog for what it is your are now recapping and learning and some tutorials on what you have learnt.... the reason I mention it is as it would actually help you learn it more. Honestly no shame if nothing ending up coming from it for whatever the reasons, that's just life. Plus it's an idea to take your channel further now and in theory would then still be around study, developing yourself further. Sorry about any grammar etc always bad when using my phone. All the best going forward with Whatever you decide.

Glad you enjoyed the video. That’s a really good idea, if I get confident enough I may just do that, thank you!

@Tom Wagstaff That's just it one possible idea for you to consider. Vlogging what you have learnt this day/week etc talking about what you have done and showing and explaining things educational wise helps cement what you have learned. Same with doing the odd tutorial hear and there, when confident enough to. Then there is pros that when and if comfortable enough to apply for jobs, you could mention your channel. Pro in an application process if hint your channel somewhere in the process it shows where you were, where you are now and what you understand. Can be powerful. Most importantly, though, it helps with learning something and others that may enjoy the content, too. Defo something I will be doing in the future on another account, as something that has come up a number of times. Obviously, it helps if something of interest before doing. There is always that possibility of the channel also growing and end up as a content creator on the subject to, although small chance always that possibility and you end that route instead lol. All the best for the future with whatever you do 😉🙂

@TomWagstaff thanks Tom, I have watched your videos for much of my degree with great interest. It will be 7 years by the time I have finished. I was never brave enough to make videos like you, though. Thanks for the inspiration.

I really appreciate this video, so thank you. I would love to know which modules you regret, I am struggling to decide on my level 2 modules, which is even harder when I don't have a specific career in mind. Was thinking maybe cyber security as that direction might open doors after finishing the degree.

Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It can be difficult to decide on what modules you want to do, just take your time and do your research on the modules that interest you. Even if you're not sure what career you want to do there's usually a part of the module that you can twist to be relevant to whichever career you pursue going forward.

Congrats on your degree. I've seen a lot of mixed review on trust pilot ect. I'm very unsure and I would like your honest opinion on on it and if it is beneficial?

I'm currently studying fine art at the OU and am in my second year. I want to go full-time next year so that I can get it done sooner for financial reasons. However, I struggle to see this alternative. will they allow this if I ask? As I have looked out of curiosity and I was told this was not an option...

Why not study towards a master's or PhD?

Hi there! I apologize for any inconvenience, but I have a question. I'm 24 years old and I completed only middle school in Poland. I'm interested in pursuing a BH IT course, but I don't have a high school diploma. Is it possible for me to enroll in these courses? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide a response.

Since I have programming knowledge and even some work experience, I understand the practical aspects of programming. However, I believe having an official diploma would help me establish myself as a "legitimate" programmer in the eyes of HR.

Yes the Open University would probably allow you to enrol. It doesn't assume previous education. Why not contact them? It's a great institution.

Ziomeczku, na OU możesz studiować bez wcześniejszych dyplomów. Nie mają wymagań. Może być ci trochę trudniej z nauką ale warto ;)

Working in customer service after getting degree at Open University actually doesn't speak well about university. xD

If you take a degree purely to get a good job you are foolish. People go through education to prepare themselves to learn for the rest of their lives NOT simply to just get a job.

Hello! I have a quick question regarding the online exams. Could you please tell me if there is a given specific time frame to complete the exams or if there was a 24-hour window provided?
@TomWagstaff

Hey! Sadly I didn’t do any online exams, at the time I did my degree the in person exams were replaced with an EMA🙂
