There might be a help for you with the ammo: after WW2 in Germany for the approved hunters by the Military there were mostly M1 Carbines available with FMJ and bad performance when hunting. They filed a cross into the bullets tip to get a better reaction. I guess that grinding your FMJ tips slightly (!!!) away, just for the core to appear, that should help for your kind of control. Grinding too much brings the risk of blowing out the core trough the jacket with the jacket remaining stuck in the barrel. Not so great for follow up shots.
@@LoneStarBoars Understand... Maybe the FMJs tumble and give you a good performance and your HP not and just pass through without energy transfer. If the HP bullets have a closed bottom you might still want to grind them a bit down to open up the tip a bit for hopefully better expansion. However a disappointing result when making such efforts to bring the pigs down...Good luck and keep on going with your awesome efforts!
