Find it stupid how people keep hating on the Norwegian guy who had a solo (Fred), saying he sounds weird etc. It’s joik. An important part of the sámi culture (indegenous people of Norway, Sweden, Russia and Finland). He’s not saying words, he’s making sounds using vowels. So please people, ffs, stop saying he sounds like he’s yodeling or something. It has an important meaning to us Sámi people. It’s representation for us. Even in Norway people are hating on the guy -.- Hope someone learned something from this comment ~ (Don’t mean to sound mean, just needed to explain, also this comment is not directed to the video creator, I know it’s comedy)
Hearing joik for the first time I was really interested and read quite some articles about it. I love this song and Freds joik is beautiful to me ^^. Coming from Germany I have never heard of neither joik nor the Sami culture and it was really cool to see and hear something new.
I agree But you see the people from outside of norway dont understand what hes singing is or how it works perfectly with the Song.. they dont understand the trible culture it represents, only scandinavians will understand that
@@danus4992 You dont have to be..the song wasnt great. And actually Its not the singers fault. Its much more the song..there is pretty much no "wow-moment" inside..
You dont know any thing he is a same and he dosen't sing like all they other he is jojking and jojking is some kind of thing that samer uses for there religon
@@stefanetienney2666 “S&M” is an abbreviation for "Sado-Masochism". You'll also see this written in English: "BDSM". That stands for "Bondage, Domination, Sado-Masochism". Not my cup of tea. At All. However, Hatari pulls it off. Everything they're wearing is directly out of the BDSM scene.
I got the S&M part but I don't get the San Marino relation. What's the deal with San Marino and S&M? Is it cuz they are always bad at ESC and trying every possible way to stand out and get votes? Or is it cuz of the name (but then it's not like the country is called San and Marino for S&M to make sense)
I know it is juft for fun, but the Norway one is actually something special for him because he is sami, and its a very special thing for them to sing that way
That’s really cool but it still sounds like shit. You don’t get a free pass just because youre singing something special. Jon Henrik Fjällgren has some great sami songs for example😊
I do like Norway this year (it`s on my top songs list) and it is rare for me to like Eurovision songs, but this year does have some unexpectedly good songs. I thought the comment about it was funny. At least this song won't put you to sleep, like half of these songs usually do 😊😊😊. And I at least have learned lately a lot of stuff about Norwegian culture.
@@veganmocha For what?!?! Not obediently doing what the Likud party demands them to? Seriously, though, I do think that they need to be more careful with their trolling, because (1) Netanyahu and his ilk have no sense of humor; (2) the actual antisemitic forces out there might think Hatari is serious.
John Weiss yeah that’s what i’m thinking. i just wonder why they went all this way just to say “fuck it we’re boycotting”. i understand that it’s due to the palestine thing, though. it’s just weird that they even tried out in the first place if they were aware of what was going on.
Laura Bamond yeah :(( i like how different they are this year. all i’ve seen is positive things about iceland (as far as the watchers of eurovision go) in regards to their whole bdsm getup. hopefully they stay! 🤞
0:26 I literally died laughing when you said “there's the spot” for Australia! 😂😂😂 Love from Sydney, Australia! 😊❤️🇦🇺 PS: Don’t you mean *DOWN UNDER* when you said “...what’s going on UNDER Kate’s large dress?” 😉
I thought "getting excited for Eurovision" would be a positive thing, but most of the comments are just about dissing the songs and countries and the aren't even funny. Like why would want to be so negative?
Just so everybody knows, the guy from Norwegian is joiking, it’s a traditional way for some people in sweden, Norwegian, Finland and Russia to sing, the people singing it are called sami, this is their way of singing so instead of saying it’s bad and weird, understand the history behind it.
@@emmamemma4162 Yeah, I just feel he's being compared to /the other singers/, implying he's attempting to sing in the same style as they are, but just failing at it.
Looking back the funniest thing about the Israeli entry is that when selecting the finalist the last tickets was either for kobi merimi or a guy with a similar concept of how Duncan performed in the eurovision finally and the judges said to him their is no way a guy with an amazing balad and a piano would won eurovision a few months later exactly that happened
Comment about Iceland: He can't hurt his voice.Maybe you aren't familiar with this technique, but you use your voice as a secondary part in "growling" it's all about the diaphragm and if you do it right you can't hurt your vocal chords ;)
Australia has one of the best performances in the finals overall: the singer and two dancers flying around in such beautiful flowy dresses. They were my favourites. Every year I want Australia to win so that finally all European countries think: "Hey, we can't let Australia win Eurovision again. We are going to stop trolling the contest and try to win it next time."

What if Kate Miller-Heidke is actually Luna Lovegood grown up and she's hiding Harry, Ron and Hermione under her dress (which is actually her house) protecting them from the Dementor?
3:51 he has such a cool voice ♡ it makes the song very special (of course the other ones, Alexandra & Tom have amazing voices too, but I especially fell in love with that joik part) if you ask me, I'm not surprised at all he got a solo🦌 (I know it's not that serious so please don't kill me but I just wanted to say that)
Obviously the comment about Freds(the Norwegian guy, Sámi really, who got the solo) mother is a joke. But she's actually really nice, such a lovely lady supporting her son and every kid she watched grow up(I should know as she is really supportive of all I do)❤❤
Every year when spring comes around I start checking your profile for a new "X reasons to get excited about eurovision" video. I gotta say those are by far the best from all around the RU-vid and each year I'm having a blast watching them. Thank you, mate, cheers!
Later in Lake Malawi's Friend of a Friend LM: Can you Hear it? ME: Hear what? LM: Someone's sliding up and down the ceiling! Me: Call the police and stop singing then!
As a swede, ive heard my fair share of sami songs (i mean jon henrik fjällgren joined melodifestivalen three times lol) and boy theyre singing is so cool. If you make fun of that one part of norways song youre basically making fun of sami culture ya know.
Just want to remind you people that since "Ridiculous Reasons" have been established, winner has always been mentioned in the video. Which means The Winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2019 is neither The Netherlands, nor Russia, nor Italy, nor Sweden. That means we ruled out almost every single favourite to win (according to the odds at least).
hey dude, wanna thank you for this video because when i saw it last year for the first time, it was the first time i saw hatari as well and now i’ve been to their concert and generally been obsessed....so thanks :DD
