Thank you so much for these recommendations! I've been wanting to come to LA for years now and I *think* (I hope!) summer 2020 will be my year! I hope to do all your recs, especially 1-2 studio tours (my dream!) and Hollywood Forever to pay my respects. We'll see if I can get out of the country to visit, I'm using your channel as my main guide to do the PCH between SanFran and LA, 10 day tour!
Dude! Awesome video! Used to hang out on sunset blvd to see shows. Great Hollywood video. Did I see some Guisados tacos 🌮 in there. One of my favorite places when I’m in LA. Usually the Echo park or Boyle Heights location for me. Can’t wait to see what’s next homie.
Gotta have lunch or dinner at Musso & Frank. If you can score an invite and packed evening wear in your suitcase, the Magic Castle is memorable. And, best of all, the people watching!
Great Info I think you should ( could have) menti0ned the Peterson auto Museum--for the Building and Cars? ( LACMA is cool what about the Disney concert hall & Broad Art Museum-) ?? maybe next time--keep up the great work and thanks
Tony Coby thanks for watching, Peterson’s is a great choice! I put the Broad and concert hall in my Downtown LA video if you want to check that one out as well
One thing NOT to do here: don't stand between a man and his money (livelihood) and don't mess with a person's family. Good job, brothers/ sisters. Hang in there. Can't put a good man or woman down without at least a fight Fight the good fight, because your life really does depend on how you act and think, what you say. A resident of another place in the Heartland, said it well in a posting elsewhere - simply and truly. Far and away, the earth is soaked stained with the blood, sweat, tears of suffering, tainted by corruption, betrayal, murder. Now, hear this: message to a certain restaurant employee or food service entrepreneur, and he will know to whom I write: hopefully recovering addict and thug, one knows he's closer than one thinks. Frigid violent urb. Rusty towns. Now he has stolen the woman of another brother. Beautiful. Now, sending a shout-out to M. and D. B___, sons of Professor 🕊️ of **** College. Man, I'm sorry 😔 that we most likely won't be raising a glass 🥂 together ever again, in this life 🧬 Words cannot express my disappointment in you and your older brother. Him, that crippled pus-infected face and hateful soul, it's understandable, but you? Really? What has happened to me, brought on in part by a member of a secret society, aided and abetted by same secret society, a brotherhood for white supremacists. They, & you by association, f***ed me good, ruined my life. If it can happen to me, it can happen to you. It can happen to anyone, eventually. C'est la vie, ainsi avec la morte. I pray 🙏🏼 God keeps his Word. Vengeance is His. Enjoy the rest of your lives.
I wish Mom,Dad,Mitchell and I could move to Hollywood so that I can own a cartooning business with help from Mom and Dad thanks to the large amount of Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins we have in the house one week after my 26th birthday.
Your list is approved. One added bonus, if you're visiting Paramount - right across the street (Melrose Ave) is Raleigh Studios. You can also visit this working studio lot and have a coffee, breakfast or lunch at their cafe it's open to the public M-F, 8 AM to 3:30 PM. Just enter the Bronson gate and tell them you want to go to the cafe, it's that easy. There's no charge to enter. And there's usually plenty of parking on the side streets there or if you're already parked for the Paramount tour. There isn't a tour but you'll see crews working on the lot as you stroll to the cafe. The Cafe was originally an old set. The lot's even older than Paramount.
One place I would recommend is Barnsdall Art Park and Hollyhock House. It is a small hill with a great view. Atop are several buildings used for art purposes like display or classes. Hollyhock House is one of most unique buildings of its kind. I often come here to sit on the grass and view. I came here when the space shuttle piggybacked and flew over/passed by the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.
Thank you so much about the Griffith Observatory advice. I went to visit on a Saturday on August around lunch time and there was no parking available, it was crazy busy.
For the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I personally like Hollywood & Vine Metro Station... if only because some of my biggest favorites are honored right in front of the station: Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres, Kate Winslet, and Mariah Carey.
Rachel So hello I used to walk home from school along Hollywood blvd and memorized all stars/names in 1976 , still a resident but spend time in Vietnam and Thailand and just started a new RU-vid channel Robert Mac in Asia to share free never ask for Donations, just me and wife trying to show the other side of the world fun sun beaches mountains then pattaya Thailand
Just discovered your channel (recommended by RU-vid). Love it. I was born in Cali, and haven't been back in years. In any case, you have a new subscriber!
Will Hike For Food I what part California did you grow up at,me Hollywood but spend most my time in Thailand and Vietnam beautiful beaches hot weather,I just started a youtube channel Robert Mac in Asia to share, will never ask for donations it’s shared from my heart me and my wife
Wonderful video! My family and I'll be in LA again this summer - we love to check out the best places for pizza, burgers, doughnuts and food trucks... I look forward to your recommendations :)
Guess you figured out there are no dinosaur bones in the La Brea Tar Pits -- the finds are from 10 to 20 thousand years ago, featuring extinct mammals like Saber Tooth Cat, Mammoths, Giant Sloths, Dire Wolves, etc. It is the most unique site for mass fossils anywhere in the world. It is a must see.
One of my favorite things to to in West Hollywood was see a concert at the House of Blues when it was still opened on Sunset Blvd. Actually, my first concert was there! Still so sad they permanently closed it.
Hermosa Ciudad.
I grew up in Hollywood since 1957 what a difference today, went to Hollywood high school ,what happened to the good old Hollywood, I spend 10 months out of the year in Thailand and Vietnam what a beautiful place and great beaches and friendly people 👍👍😎that’s why I started a channel to share my travels thanks for sharing your views
During the early 70's I used to go to the Hollywood area to check out the many shops just have not made the Time to come the closet I was there was to check out the Glendale Mall

Great Video, glad you put the Hollywood Museum so high, has to be the most underrated attraction in Hollywood. Great exhibits and included on the Go LA Card.
Robert Chorley agreed, people often go to Ripleys and wax museum. Both are fun but the Hollywood museum has all of the film stuff that people come to Hollywood to see
Wonderful video! However, LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, and Melrose Trading posts aren’t really in Hollywood. Also, there are bones at the tar pits, just not any dinosaur bones.
Correction: You will NOT see dinosaur bones at La Brea tar pits; what you will see are the bones of ice age mammals, including dire wolves and smilodons.
Abbey Teliska try visiting Vietnam and Thailand nice beaches I just started a youtube channel Robert Mac in Asia to start showing the great country,I also grew up in Hollywood and own property in the area but spend most time in Asia
Its sad how people have these visions of hollywood the way it was years past. The excitement and awe. And it was! Now...its a dump. Not the same at all and VERY dangerous. But...especially the young who crave to be famous and have burning desire to feel famous and need for attention..they will still be awe struck probably by it so ehhh they should go but its not the same.
I’m from Australia and did LA for the first time last October - I’m having withdrawals a d your channel is helping me get by! I’m so stoked I checked out Amoeba before it closed down for the relocation!!
I've only been to walk of fame tcl Chinese theatre griffith observatory Hollywood Sign (no hike tho) so far.. so many places left on my list! I love this city so much :)
um, universal also has their tram tour, i love hollywood blvd! glad i lve here! and i love hiking to the observatory and the hollywood sign. where you can occassionally smell gardenias and if your lucky catch a glimpse of peg entwistles ghost. the gardenias was her favorite flower
Do you have a recommendation for a good viewpoint in the late eveneings? We visited L.A. last easter and tried to visit Griffith Observatory but it was closed really early. From there wie tried to find another nice viewpoint with a great overlook at all the city lights by night but we had no success. The view from Hollywood Bowl seems exactly the viewpoint we are searching for but as you said it also is closing realy early. So I hope that you can recommend another option cause we will be there again by the end of october :-) Thanks in advance and thanks for your nice and informative content!
I really like the blend of more artsy places and the flea markets/ eateries/ that sort of thing that you've reviewed in your video. It's great for ESL students. Thanks!
Have not been to the Hollywood area in a few years I used to check out a lot of record shop but will many record shops not around anymore I stopped coming
Great video!!!! Very informative and nice narrating! Thank you! Totally my style of sightseeing (a bit of this a bit of that) super helpful! Visiting this summer xx
