i can not listen to this today without tearing up as this was the MOST memorable expansion of a game i absolutely loved playing, logging on everyday with something to do, with a smile on my face, the characters where amazing, the quests were amazing, the raids....THE FUCKING RAIDS WE'RE S TEIR! and now when i log on i cant even find that kind of enjoyment out of it anymore. Its like an old girlfriend you cared so much about and you cant let go of those amazing memories. and now you're just left with shit.
One of my favorite pieces of music, period.Fiddle music that sounds like country, as in outside and non-urban--without being 'country and western" or anything else but itself--it fits perfectly with the zone, imo.
I would lick the toes of these composers, if I could !!! I swear, for this heartbreaking first part of this piece, I love it so much... I'm always listening to the World of Warcraft Soundtrack after work, especially the chillly pieces, this is one of my favourites! :))) Thank you!
In a continent totally ravaged by death, war and ultimately, the possible destruction of the world, the Grizzly Hills and this music really make an outstanding contrast. Love this music, thats why my hearthstone is set to Grizzly Hills, everytime I hearth, i hear this and its always good, especially after a raid =P
out of all the songs featured on any warcraft OST, i'd have to say that this one is my favorite. the strings and wind instruments weave together with such elegance and power, so as to evoke grand, emotive yet humbling aural cadences. this is the best shit to smoke to as well.
Does anyone know who plays the "Nycelharpa" in the score? Sounds very Swedish folk-inspired, and it sounds like the person playing and the composer has knowledge on the swedish folk music.
@seattle0sound you and I agree totally. This is the most beautiful zone in the entire game. From music to locations it is a monument to what Blizzard is capable of when they really try.
Wrath was the expansion of good music. Cataclysm's music is too much about violence... and other stuff. I am really looking forward to see what Pandaria will bring.
Having heard the music in Grizzly Hills, this doesn't sound like a single track - this sounds like a combination of the Grizzlemaw intro and the Grizzly Hills intro spliced together. And very badly, on top of that. Blizzard is getting lazy.
