This young man is so special. I am in awe at how he conquered what was holding him back. This was difficult for him. Quite a sensory experience, but I am so impressed with the willpower of this young man. He’s so bright and full of life, I am just in awe. And you did great too, Vernon!

Great work! I've been a barber for over 25 years. I have numerous clients on the spectrum. You are so right, you have to meet them in THEIR comfort zone. Sitting, standing, sitting or laying on the floor - wherever they are comfortable. It may take 3 hours with lots of breaks or multiple tries over 3 days...you just don't get uptight and it all works out.

I started shampooing my own hair very young because I couldn't stand having other people mess with my hair. I wore my hair long most of the time for the same reason. I know how it feels to have people doing things to the back of your head that you can't see or control. Every person deserves to be _seen,_ and to have their wants and needs respected.
