I had that moment when I was 24 in college. I worked my ass off for 2.5 years, getting awesome grades and doing my absolute best to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Then there was this classmate who always slacked, always did the bare minimum, always complained but somehow he always got through. Then at some point we had a project. I worked my ass off, 2 months I spend working on it. In the end the project kinda failed but I made a huge effort out of it. I got a 6 for that project. The other guy slammed something together in the last 2 weeks, it was of really bad quality, you could clearly see that no real effort was put into it. But because it was better than the shit he previously did they gave him an 8. Then I realised this was bullshit and walked out. It became clear to me that they cared more about having a high number of graduates than actually educating. The only reason they gave him such a high grade was so that he wouldn't become completely demotivated and quit the education. I mean the guy wanted to quit multiple times bfore that but teachers and his parents always talked him out of it. If the college had any self respect they would have told the guy to quit because he clearly wasn't motivated. But instead they rather take his money and lure him through the course with good grades.
