I am always amazed by the accuracy of meters of this vintage. Built well and built to last. The alignment procedure was surprisingly simple, an indication of how well designed this meter is. This workhorse Simpson 260 will be good for another 60 years of service. The automobile polish did wonders for the shine! Looks great. Much better than "Brito" from the 3 Stooges. LOL 73

Contrary to the manual can be best, I agree with vertical alignment. Also the accuracy comments in the manual are stupid. It's more accurate in the first half of the scale, not over the whole scale. Manual says use the most scale you can, if you check it, that's wrong so you are correct to think and not blindly follow the manual. Weather stripping for the battery it GREAT. Keep up the good work.

I have about 12 simpson meters of diferent series ,some can read 5000 volts direct , but my favor is a triplett meter ,that one can read 6000 volts direct
