Love that I'm in the region that just got the world record twice by two different teams. But seriously that's an incredible robot, and I really liked your Fusion 360 for FTC tutorials. How did you guys get the rings up into the turret? Our team is also using the turret strategy, and getting the rings up from our intake into the turret was by far the biggest challenge. We currently are using a linear bearing mechanism that gets pulled up by a string, and it works okay.
Looks great! Everything about this robot run is amazing but I am a bit curious and want clarification. I believe that your human player holding onto the rings during end game (waiting to release them until you were in position) is against the rules and rings must be returned at a reasonable rate (at least in Minnesota where we are it was mentioned human players must return rings). Either way, likely wouldn’t take much from your score either
Did some research, page 20 of remote game manual 2 in section c. « Storing a supply of Rings by a Human Player is not allowed during the Driver-Controlled Period. Rings should be returned to the Playing Field as quickly as practical. Penalties will be assessed per Ring with additional Penalties per Ring for every five seconds the violation continues. » Just a heads up, because I know lots of teams will be jealous of your amazing robot and try to penalize you. I can’t wait to see the next video!
@@masterjackuson Thanks for letting us know about this. Our human player said he needed to go retrieve rings, but wanted to wait until after TeleOp had finished before doing so, something that is legal under GS2. In the end it didn't have any effect as we didn't intake any more rings, but thank you for reaching out and making us aware!
Odometry, I'd think that camera for autoaim would be difficult. You could theoretically use blob detection for heading control, but finding distance with camera autoaim wouldn't be easy.
@@thomaschu5418 you can do homography. A well implemented system with that has lesser theoretical drift than dead wheel odometry but is still harder. Good luck!
When claimed world record, you need to read FTC docs carefully. " Rings that are not Pre-Loaded have no Score value for the Autonomous Period ". The points calculation was wrong!
An official forum post ruled that starter stack rings can be scored during the autonomous period for points. Here is the link to the ruling: ftcforum.firstinspires.org/forum/ultimate-goal-presented-by-qualcomm/game-rules-ac/remote-events/explore-the-game-manual-for-the-answer-ag/84055-clarification-on-post-3-regarding-the-starter-stack-during-the-autonomous-period#post84055
