Hi from the Aussie crazy wild bird guy on Patreon. Lol. Thanks for another interesting video. Interesting comments with heat pump terminology. "Heat pumps" have been a pool heating solution in Aus for decades. "Air conditioning" was the original, then "reverse cycle air conditioning" became the norm (split system). People seem to understand that easily. "Inverter" was tacked on once the tech became available. Heat pump terminology has returned with hot water system upgrades now. Cheers

You asked for ideas on future shows, here’s some: 1.) I installed solar panels in 2013, currently has a failure in the inverter. I appears that Solar Edge MAY cover this? If not what would you recommend as a replacement? 2.) one disappointment with solar has been to inability to use it when the power grid is down. I understand that this is a safety issue for grad workers. Recommend solution s to install an extremely expensive battery backup (this raises other issues I’ll describe in #3). Is there cost effective solutions to utilize the power generated in the array? 3.) when looking into battery backup in the Northeast, you run into fire code / technical constraints. Fire codes restrict battery systems to garages or outbuildings. The batteries require heat to charge. The logical place to put a battery is in the basement, but fire codes restrict that. Any solutions? Non lithium batteries that can be safely used in basements. 4.) years ago you did an episode on battery snowblowers. IMO you should revisit this on a regular cycle (ever two years)? Not just snowblowers but all sorts of power equipment. I have a level 2 charger, is there a snowblower that can use it? Seems like a no brained (as opposed to battery pacs). 5.) I also have a Chevy volt approaching 100k miles. Ice engine perhaps 20%, mpg over 130 MPg. With a little care this car should be able to run over 250k miles. If I have to replace the battery I’m SOL. Any suggestions? I can give you five more ideas but I’ll call it quits. Thanks for great content- keep un the good work.

A note on the CO2 pressures. The initial "filling" of the system is a challenge because you are changing the system from ambient preasure to 1,500- 2,500 PSI. Yes THAT take a good pump or high pressure bottle. But,the evaporator side is at 600 PSI, so the net pressure change isn't quite as dramatic. Still, its a larger pressure gradient than current residential pumps, but mot THAT outlandish. I have no clue if stainless is required.

Are there any ramifications of heat pumps or a/c units by producing excess warm air/cold air into the atmosphere? Also, a similar scenario for hydro panels or taking the humidity from the air and producing water using solar panels. Does this possibly cause any changes in weather or if largely adopted cause issues for the environment?

Has Matt made it to free yet, meaning can he produce all his energy needs from his system including his EV? When he does will he sell back to the grid as that is not a great investment of his expensive energy but normally required to make the numbers work. When he can unplug for good he will have the system he needs.

Ya this year my grid tied Enphase will have made enough to pay for the install that was 7 years ago now I need to add more. @@evane8155
