Your channel is great Julie… whenever you show your bird friends I always end up singing the song I learned in first grade - 🎶Kukabura sits in the old gum tree, Merry, merry king of the bush is he, Fly Kukabura, fly Kukabura gay your life must be… I remember learning about the “land down under” then too and being so perplexed by that idea, lol. Fun stuff!

Here in Canada, I used to grow roses that were a deep red but as they aged the outer petals would turn purply blue!!! Those and my light purple rosed were my favourite!

I love how you showed the birds first. It's been a while since you did that. I have a cockatiel named Shadow. The rose came out AMAZING. Why don't you try one with white with pink through it next time. I had an Iceberg and sugarcane ash used to land on the rose. I got pink throughout my white rose.

Re: the thoughts on this being viable for a coaster. It could work as an insert in a mold basin that's a tiny bit bigger than the cured rose. Just a little clear for it to rest in as a "top coat", and as soon as that's cured it is done. A two step process, sure, but it can be done. Might even use it as an insert in a geode mold, and have the majority of the second resin batch be clear, but have a colored resin ring around the outside to give a sort of 'peep hole' effect embedding the rose in a gem like a dewy moment suspended in time.

There is a rose called Double Delite, it's a white rose with pink on the edges of the petals. So you could just use the raspberry power with your white bloom. I'm not interested in doing this craft but love watching your videos 💜🪻💜

There are 3 different rose molds available and I use them to make coaster sets. I have backed them in black and it turned my mica a silvery purple. Backing with white makes the colors more vivid and clear makes them more muted. Backed with pink and super bright!

So precious 💕🥰 so perfect, so much like porcelain ❤❤❤ Such a natural shading effect that you managed to achieve in those magnificent petals ❤ and the way the yellow merged so perfectly, smoothly onto the rose colours ❤ It didn't need the highlights but they enhanced that porcelain look in quite an elegant way, indeed 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Pretty! I ordered this mould last week because i'd seen some layered coasters done with it. I like the idea of different colours in the petals, or flooding with a couple of different translucent colours or clear and then colour on the back. Look forward to getting this one!

Oh my gosh, Julie, I just did the exact same thing (I mean exactly).. same technique and colors. lol I'll wait on mine to post it. It's crazy how this happens. 🤣 This is beautifull! Also I love the birds... I was disappointed that we didn't see any kookaburra while we were in Brisbane. But the black birds with the white were beautiful and fun to watch. ❤
