Great videos gents I’m loving these. Real insight just adding comments as we go through the sections, section 825 and EEMS, all the buying selling at different rates are here through out the day, and I can honestly say as user of these tariffs I am so far in 2020 I profit to the tune of £1200 on my energy bill despite 2 electric cars, electric boiler (12kw) and hot water systems. Also have PV and home battery storage. I would say I’m a early adopter in this tech but as a spark and a early adopter these things are aligning well, maybe the regs slightly behind in reality 👍

Section 722, one thing to think about during islanding mode is a car charger could be up to 7.2 kWh. To have a home battery which will supply this much power not only to the car and the house is not going to happen. Even a powerwall only gives a output of 5 kWh continuous output,

The rcbo naming terminology needs to change it is confusing having an RCBO with type B (mcb part) and type B (rcd part.........The terminology for the rcd part should change from type to something else eg form,group,category etc

Other capability’s energy storage you already touched in it, islanding mode, selling and buying power, keeping solar running in a power cut ( produces its own frequency ) to keep within inverter specs of solar and more importantly switches solar off if the battery’s are full so there’s always somewhere for power to go ( does this by taking the frequency higher which turns off solar inverter )

Section 824.2 Reverse feeding mode is already here, octopus energy have a tariff in addition to incoming energy called “outgoing” which gives you a variable tariff at different times of the day. ( buying and selling at a profit ) the future is here

The problem that I have come across in spd's in domestic or small commercial installations(without bms) is that if the devices DO get a strike and they operate(as they should) they don't actually cut off the supply,there is no monitoring to let the owner know they have operated....sure there is a small window that maybe goes red but who constantly checks these...and once they do operate thats them done..you have lost your protection and is the owner going to replace them if his installation works fine .UNLIKELY

Hi gents again section 826 Tesla gateway 2 in islanding mode already changes over instantly to a other earthing system (earth electrode ) and the protection devices are within the Tesla gateway ( just for the record the gateway 2 runs through the main tales of the house, and there big contractors

in the irish test certs there is a tick box for erroneous cross connections with other circuits which I have personally come across in some commercial sites.I thought this might have made an appearance here.

The cross options are surely for EICR where deemed unsatisfactory prior to remedial, to provide evidence to clients (duty holder)?

Hi Can you advice if I can use single core cables in a plastic trunking secured every 300mm with fire clip in.a domestic dwelling? Obviously I can not use IP4X s as its not metal trunking but if its enough mechanical protection? Thanks

Any chance of a link to the Schneider document (re earth leakage) here please? I did try quite hard to find it on their website, but failed.
