Not necessarily. With that specific device, yes, it is wasteful. But you can harvest water from air through the natural cooling at night. It's called dew. But of course it all comes down to volume. Many por countries have managed to create small water harvesters. This is a high-tech solution to a low tech problem.

Funny, we have been running the water from our dehumidifier through a filter for almost 15 years. Nothing new, just a gadgety, expensive box. But hopefully it will get people thinking about it. Unfortunately all areas facing water shortages live in very arid climates and there is little moisture in the air to be extracted. In those cases, it is far too costly to use this technology.

So let me get this straight... someone, somewhere, at some point in time, was asked "If a tree falls in a forest and no one's there, did it make a sound?" and decided they were so personally offended by the question that they concluded that we should just wiretap the whole dang forest. Every forest. All over the world.

At 0:06:00 you talk about a condensing system that can give close to three gallons of water a day. I live in Florida and on the most humid days my 350watt dehumidifier can only produce a little over 2 gallons with a forced air system. These "condensation" water source things ONLY work where there's high humidity and won't function at all under 65% so are absolutely worthless where there isn't available water for much simpler reverse osmosis filtration.

Man, that "spout" and similar have been debunked 1000 times by ThunderF00t and lesser humans. It's basically a glorified dehumidifier, which creates the problem that a) the (initial) harvest is unfit for human consumption and more importantly b) it'll be useless where it could _actually_ help. Even in the Carribeans, blessed with high humidity, I don't see a lot of people that have the funds for both an expensive dehumidifier _and_ the necessary tools to actually make the harvest potable.

Hurricane Harvey's damage was due to the storm being caught along a front moving south, causing the storm to stall out over the city. I live in Houston. It was being talked about for days before the storm hit. The winds were far from the problem. It was the storm surge (along the coast) and the rain further inland. And given that this low lying, swampy type territory, it tends to not recede very quickly.

Condensing moisture from the air for drinking purposes is the exact same thing as drinking rain water, and that's not recommended because the air is full of pollutants you can't filter out, like VOCs and nanoparticles. Besides, the elites all drink distilled tap water, a much better alternative. I started distilling my water a couple years ago because I got tired of lugging bottles up to my apartment from the store, and after seeing (and smelling) all the crud left behind after just one 4 liter cycle of distillation, I was convinced that I did the best thing for my health.

I find your program to be full of mind-boggling inventions, often even including the price, so my question is: where are these marvels of the science available to the common public? In particular oh, that amazing apparatus that turns air into water. Could you folks or someone else on this thread let me know where to buy it? I'll just save up all the aluminum cans I find on the road and get one.

I love how brain-dead these videos' voiceovers are. In the one about air car racing, they made it sound like an 80kg pilot spec is difficult. Is it really difficult finding suitable pilots under 180 lbs? Are they all tall or overweight? No women pilots? For the one about wave electricity generation, it says that it's amazing that it could consistently produce 5kW - even in waves up to 2.3m high. The higher the wave, the more dramatic the change so of course it should be able to produce the upper end of the average (that is, up until it reaches the max wave in which it can operate). It's like a high school student writing a paper on something they don't know and just trying to blindly rephrase what they read from their references.

I have always wondered why we were not making Hydrodynamic subs like we make aerodynamic planes- they both exist in a fluid medium. The density is just different, so why not have fast submarines that move around like b-52's or airliners?
@null6634
@null6634 7 месяцев назад
Because we are building hydrodynamic subs. However water is somewhat more dense that air. That means if you want to move faster it takes much more energy to do the same work. Try running on a dry surface, basically just moving through air, then running in a foot or two of water.

OHHH HEXAGONAL, witchy enviromagic? Taxi inductuve charging? I dare you to jump the taxi line with your Tesla for a charge... Yes the track construction is a positive move. Weightlifter got away from weight belts years ago because the prosthetic "prevention" proved to cause the stabilization muscles to lagg behind the main force muscles causing increased injuries when the people did task oriented work with the main muscles. Excersize the ankles for strength instead.
