glad we dont have a blood angle in the squad when we reach that temple, seeing a statue of sanguinius and then a space marine killed by a cultist? we do not need a black rage situation.
Another cool detail that I noticed that on the Bridge, Captain Acheran is guarded by two members of the Victrix Honour Guard. Special Space Marine Veterans that are equipped with big Shields and Power Swords. You can also later on see two of the fighting alongside Marneus Calgar during Cutscenes. It is really cool that they put in the work of modelling these guys for the game.
A note on Serfs, they're not simple servants despite their name, they're actually part of the Chapter, and as such, they are also regarded as Ultramarines, they are generally failed Space Marine Aspirants whose Gene-Seeds did not mature well enough, but they are still somewhat superhuman, and receive Imperial Guard levels of training and are steadfast to defend the Chapter when their Brothers (who usually refer to them as little brothers) are not present.
better to be a failed aspirant of the Ultramarines than some other chapters. the space wolves aspirants fed to the dogs and the blood angels ones get their blood drank most likely. love that grim dark!
I was impressed yet again when I saw they animated the turret turn before crashing the door. Also one detail, if you look at the stairs leading to the comment portal (where the cut scenes usually happen), you will see the stairs being compressed in a left>right>left pattern that roughly matches the character's walking path. This is because Space Marine is heavy and the walking compressed the staircases
A friend of mine found a canticle to the omnissiah in the lower ramp if the ship written in binary. when you translate it you see it‘s about injuries in the workplace for the common deck workers
After the chaos ambush you can hear mechanicus talk in the armory about putting the wounded sergeant into a dreadnought. It makes a lot of sense since the damage from the bomb wasn't that great, he was a veteran (white stripe on his red helmet) and combined with stories of his heroics that you mentioned here in the beginning, he was a perfect candidate for dreadnought.
Going by the visuals some metallic rod pierced his helmet and got stuck in his eye and head. I doubt they can put him in one of their fancy terror wheelchairs if the marine doesn't have a functioning brain.
@@tobiasfritz5781 If they are discussing the possibility, it could be that the brain might have survived "enough". Who knows really, human physiology is weird, and space marine even more so.
@Cooldude-ko7ps some youtuber puts out a short saying its the same marine and is wrong and now everyone thinks it's the same guy. The marine died and they had a service for him. They wouldn't have a service for him if he was put in a dreadnought.. they would celebrate him and talk about that.
Not the same person. That Dude died died. No dreadnought for him. Their names are not the same on the chest. Stop spreading trying to spread some clueless youtube short as fact
The commissar ordering guardsmen to stand whilst they leg it probably isn't all that uncommon. They are the enforcers of a terrible regime, and there is in all likelihood plenty of hypocrites or tyrants amidst their number.
There certainly would be some but the way commissars are trained doesn't give much room for cowards. The scholar progenium isn't your regular officer school it's a religious school that breaks them down then programs them into fanatics who place their duty above their life.
I'm glad the NPCs point out the lack of satisfaction in killing Thousand Sons marines. I felt the same. Between the hive minded Tyranids and the automatonic Rubric Marines I found myself a bit disappointed that the only enemies in the campaign who could speak were raving mad Tzeentch lunatics.
That's actually not a tech priest those servitors are standing over - I'm pretty certain that's a Skitarius. Since those are functionally just more advanced servitors, it does make sense for them to feel some sort of kinship for each other
My dad used to own a tank (long story) and he would often use it to clear trees on the farm. As a result, the turret was almost always pointed backwards and as a little kid this confused me, but when I saw the Chimera turn it's turret around before crashing through the door, it gave me a smile. "I understood that reference" moment
About the commisars, Gaunt Ghost series said that quite a number of commisars, once experienced enough battle, tended to... relocate quickly, once the situation got hot.
i think there was a mention of a commissar going ballistic and shooting a bunch of of own troops towards the end wouldn’t rly be surprised if that was the same commissar
The only issue with the Varellus dedication is they used a regular sergeant helmet, and not the veteran one he should have. Could be because of the metal puncuturing it to though.
If you look at Varellus's Helmet you'll realize that he's not just a sergeant but a *VETERAN* sergeant because of the white lining on the middle of his Helmet. As you can see base on Charion's and 2 of the marines infront of his room you can tell that base on their experience he had proven alot of times throughout many campaigns long enough to earn him the *Crux Terminatus* Veteran sergeants like him can be transfered in other companies in command squads aside from the First companies which is why we can see him in the second company
Theres a lore tidbit i saw elsewhere when the guardsmen are loosing their minds to the warp but some of them are okay. The ones that are okay have purple eyes and are cadians
I actually found the amount of mechanicus guys on the battle barge a bit off putting. The attendants feel more like Mechanicus acolytes rather than chapter serfs and a lot of techpriest duties are taken on by techmarines for Astartes stuff (such as the armory!!!!). Those are ofc inducted into the cult mechanicus, but are Space Marines themselves.
The bolt rounds visible are too large, a bolt rifle fires a .75 caliber round, that being around 19mm in diameter. Those magazines should be at least a double stack for the correct ammo count.
The in game models appear heavily based on the physical plastic models. On the plastic models, visible shells are similarly proportioned because making them any smaller is harder to model and paint.
A bit weird seeing the helmet in Varellus's quarters lacking the white vertical line he had when he was killed Also, his eyes were yellow, instead of green
Im curious. Do someone know what model is the dropship that is used in the intro cinematic? Reminds me to a Valkyrie but it being used for space flight and the external hull definitely no look like one
Ciaphas Cain would not run while in view of anyone else. Except perhaps Jurgen, who will accept whatever reason is presented to justify a "tactical withdrawal".
You people (game journalists, not just GameSpot) have spoiled absolutely every aspect of the game in the relentless quest for content. I don't even need to buy the game.
@@matiasdiaz8913 That's a bit random. But it is not just story beats, how intricate can the story be? It's that they make videos showing you every little nook and cranny, every Easter egg, ever call-out.
