1901 Youngs Mill Road LaGrange, GA 

My uncle and aunt, Ervin and Florene Prather lived there prior to these owners. Mr. Young loved Florene's cooking just like everyone else did!! Florene had a restaurant there. The original slave houses and smoke houses were there then. The kitchen had a servant's staircase much narrower than the main one. My aunt said she has heard the sound of glass breaking coming from that staircase. I remember the bedrooms went up and up about 5-6 floors getting smaller and smaller as you got to the top. The top floor was just one room. I am sure that old house would have been a paranormal adventure!!

Well, I'm here because of HOHH. The house is really amazing in the outside and inside but yeah I'm sure they just filmed the outside and also the small room outside for the box o' kittens scene is actually near the house while in the movie it's a bit far from the house. It's cool though. And this tour video was published five years before the series. Thanks for sharing it, anyway!

This house is freaking insane however built it must have loved castles because thats the vibe i get from it more than a house vibe

My great grandfather and great grandmother died in that house. I go every year to meet them and take a tea cup with them. Nice house 👍

Nancy, Joe Young lived in this house with his parents. Mr. Joe's house is across the bridge where Young's Mill was and on the opposite side of the road. You cannot see that house from the road. I remember going there once and it had the most awesome fire places large enough to stand in at either end of huge room that went all the way across front of the house. Mr Joe told me once he did not want to own all the land in Troup County . . . just all the land that bordered his sizable acreage It is part of the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes, a charitable organization, but has been in dispute over ownership. Mr. Joe left his house and acreage to a gentleman that had worked for him for years. When Mr. Nelson passed away his legal heirs have contested Youth Home ownership claiming their right to inherit all the way to Georgia Supreme Court. We lived in the old Tudor Mansion in 1977-78 and had the best Halloween Party there La Grange has ever seen. Old man Young's hand and lower part of arm that got cut off at the old lumber mill was buried in the yard complete with head stone. What has been done to house is beautiful but too too much . . . the old house was the epitome of class and was fabulous.
