I happened into an 03a1 at a good price, it's mid 500,000 and it was drilled and tapped for the Warner swasey musket scope or site. They sold it cheap for the drill and tap, they didn't know that it was a government drill and tap. The only damage on the stock is below where the Warner swasey mounting area, and a 1944 rebarrel. Bolt matching serial number wood is original a1 wood. Thanks for the heads up on the star marking, this barrel looks like it's marked with that, but it has no other scope markings other than the Warner swasey tapped holes. Perfect bore, guess I did OK for 800.00 bucks
I’m looking to start competing in vintage sniper matches. How does one go about acquiring a rifle like the 1903a1 or a4 rifles like the ones in your videos?
