I recently got this really cool old Winchester and the ammo just came in yesterday. I'll be doing a full video on it soon because it's an interesting old gun. But the main purpose of this video is to direct you to Henrik's livestream that I'll be joining him on today (8/11/23). We'll be drinking beer and talking guns...what could be better?

I got one of these... Love the slim profile and the iron sights, and it has good accuracy. I bought a brick of ammo when it was available a few years back.

Winchester wanted to keep black powder 22's out of the gun hence the proprietary cartridge later versions were offered in 22LR

This rifle has that strange charging button, because Browning owned the patent for the side charging handle. This was written into the patent by Winchester's lawyers for what became the Auto-5 shotgun. Then Winchester passed on the shotgun.

I like the gun. I can imagine that back in 1903 this gun would have been phenomenal firepower when out on a hunt. A holosun aimpoint on top would probably do great. Maybe a modern version with polymer stock would be cool, with a picatinny rail on top. Greetings, Jeff

Cool 22. Didn't the cop use a carbine like that back in 50 through the 60? It had the same under barrel cocking.

I've read a lot of comments and it seems people want you to re chamber a rare Antique "historical" fire arm to something more practical , Well if you're gonna ruin a rare antique historical fire arm go big . .500 S&W ,or 45-70 maybe go tacticool and go for 300 blkout.

interesting old gun ... you have to cock the gun like that because at the time it was made the side cocking handle was patented.

He has an extreme bullet trap. That target will stop 50 BMG rounds. It is where they test fire all their rifles. That was his daughter by the way 😊

That was my daughter's mother-in-law! And she was in her office while I was firing into the bullet trap, which is a completely different direction.

The only drawback of the Nylon 66 is the loading. This would be slightly easier to load in a vehicle.

Beautiful rifle spoilt in 63 by adding pistol grip. I converted mine to 22 lr high velocity only as i could not find a suitable spring. I had to make three small parts with a very old pedal lathe and a few diferent files. Looking forward to seeing your long report. Tks for all.
