I basically made the same set up. Alaskan scope is period. C stock is great. Shoots nicely. I bedded the action to the stock ,and freefloated the barrel. The action is a Not Springfield. It's a made up action but is proofed . Erscased action . They were made in the 50,s 60s. I made it for reacting WW2. Then started shooting live at the range. Shoots fine. Looks fines . Its fine for me. Fun rifles
You could take the worn out vintage rings to a good machine shop, and they'd probably be able to bore them out slightly and make some bushings to hold your scope properly. We're talking less than .020" (20 / 1000ths of an inch) bushing thickness when it's done, it'd look correct for the period except up VERY close. Just FYI
The weaver 330 is the proper civilian equivalent to the M73 scope that’s supposed to be on it you can send your 330 or the scope you have to Iron Sight inc and they can rebuild the scope with the fine cross hair for you for like $130
Had one of those weaver scopes. How the hell troops dealt with such a cheep scope, but had to use what was at hand . The Alaskan scope is so much better. Am told it's solid like a bowling pen. And ,they are. Very durable scope. Hard to find these days but they are out there . Just have to hunt em down .
Your A4 Looks Even Better! Sucks that the Rings were Worn Out as they were More Correct(to Military). They MIGHT be Fixed-Like Engine Connecting Rods. Anyway-Good Luck to Ya when Shooting at Matches!

If you can find a sporterized bolt that will work. You can cut the bolt handle off heat it then bend it. Then weld it back on. Also there is people who make 1903 a4 bolt replicas.
Hi guy that looks identical to mine. I have a 2.5 fine cross hair Weaver tho. Funny I wanted the post, 😕 I just shot a 3/8 " group at 200 yards. I was afraid to shoot another time, I didn't want to spoil the group. Never sell it ❗ 🪖🇺🇲👌
