www.motorcyclepediamuseum.org/ Bruce Lindsay stopped by the Museum to drop off this early Harley v-twin model that he restored. It really roars with that Harley sound. Come visit us and see for yourself!
My Grand father had one of the same models around 1918 when he was 16.. He rode all around from New Orleans to Detroit, Etc. He said, It could travel more miles per day than a automobile, until some thing broke down and you had to pull over and repair it or a tire went flat. According to him, it was an easy bike to work on...
That sounds like a pretty badass story. Simplicity, reliability and longevity isn't the primary focus of most bikes built these days it seems sadly. All those electronic bits and pieces they have on them now. Make it hard or pretty much impossible,to work on or fix them yourself.
I would sure love to putter that bike around the block, have my photo taken on a slow drive by with leather helmet and aviation goggles. Collector of experiences. A guy coaxed me to take his 1947 Harley 3 wheel for a ride at a camp ground in PEI about 35 years ago. I never took it out of 1st gear or exceeded running on foot speed but I really appreciated the gesture and never forgot. I wish he knew today that I couldn't have enjoyed it more!
It's not only a motor bike, but it's a landmark in the history of mobikes. No mobike manufacturing company. in the world will ever again produce such a masterpiece with such skill and technology.Look the way this bike starts.
man so amazing id do just about anything to spend a day in the early 1900s just drop me in the middle of the city love to hear the sounds and smells and everything moving so slow really would be an amazing thing
